The gallon of back-sweat that I build up in the first thirty seconds of starting my car is good enough of an indicator for me.

Russia and other countries, meanwhile, have been arguing over who has rights to the region's resources, including potential oil reserves.
I'm glad everyone has their priorities straight at least.

I live in Costa Mesa CA. on the bluffs about a mile from the beach, and about 150 feet above sea level, got a real nice view of Catalina.

I know! That was the first thing that caught my eye too.

Further proof that humans are greedy, self destructive jackasses.

I'm glad someone is thinking about the oil; what else are we going to use to power our amphibious, hydro-hovering vehicles once everything is devoured by the oceans? Love? Well wishes?

WE NEED THAT CRUDE!!1!1!!

Perhaps the two of us can get together to surf to Marina Del Lex.

I'm stealing your article to post on Facebook, Doc. It's worth noting that I live in Midland too, a town so conservative even the gay people are against gay marriage.

I was always under the impression that the climate skeptics were of the opinion that climate change was occurring, just that there was no proof humans were the primary cause for it - is that correct or are there really some people out there insisting its NOT happening at all?

I mean, if thats the case are these people just sitting around with their fingers in their ears screaming "LALALALALAICAN'THEARYOUUUUU" or what?

Climate change is happening. It's been happening throughout the history of the planet, long before humans came along and invented internal combustion engines.

There have been ice ages and warming periods throughout man's duration on the planet. This is nothing new. Coastlines are never stable, changing slowly over time.

Can we do something about it? I doubt it. Natural sources of CO2 like fires and volcanoes dwarf what we do intentionally. I do think it's a sensible thing to search for alternate power sources while we look for new oil sources.

That being said, would it have been smart for Lincoln to say as a country we were going to stop using horses because in a few decades we would develop alternate energy sources? What would happen to the economy in the meantime?

I say we develop everything we can. Who knows what might work out best for us?

True story. I have documents and a written confession proving it.

So we are in the middle of winter down here, and temperatures usually are between 0º and 10º Celsius. For the last 5 days, it's been at 25º Celsius and today it's gonna hit 30º.

WTF!
