I think its hight time we collected some of the chewers favorite online time wasters here...Ill start with:

Chronotron, a puzzle game based on time travel and paradoxes...cute as hell, and it gets hard as fuck in later levels...

Any other suggestions?

I'm sure going to hate:

a) myself for reading this thread and adding to my general lateness in getting work done, and
b) helping to spread the procrastination to all of the innocents reading this

Desktop Tower Defense

Yeah, I remember starting a thread dedicated to free web games, but like most pre-revamp threads, it isn't coming up in the search.

Desktop Tower Defense remains an obsession for me. 10K mode is the bane of my existence.

Has anybody checked out this place? They have a lot of interesting-looking stuff, but I haven't actually tried any of it yet. I'm trying to find some evidence that it's a trustworthy site before I start up. I don't want my hard drive getting eaten because I had to play Build-a-Lot.

Adventure Quest kept me from getting any work done for a couple of weeks, but it got pretty repetitive. I'd like to find something like it that's a little less dull.

I've killed several days of my life over the past few years playing the games at Orisinal.

I hate that site in the OP for perpetuating the obscene use of 'addicting' as an adjective.

As for web games, how about this old chestnut:

Very simple game but surprisingly hard to quit playing and I just love the game's art style and music.
