So a friend of mine was going through his office and found some of his old comics as well as a lot of Cinefex magazines. He lent me the 100th issue with a CG Tom Hanks on the cover for The Polar Express. In this issue, Cinefex interviewed many of the biggest names in the visual fx industry. It was hard to schedule them all in one place, so they did them separately and edited the interviews to look like it was a round table.
It's a doozy of a feature that continued on in the next issue. Though I'm still reading it, I'm getting such a huge kick out of it that I wanted to share some of it (to those like me who didn't subscribe to this magazine).
The reason I'm getting such a huge kick is because for what's supposed to be a celebratory issue, the feature is mostly an opportunity for these professionals to vent their frustrations at the industry in a genuine way.
So I'm gonna try to type some of the best parts up when I have time to spare. Hope anybody enjoys these!
(I tried to see if this feature was available somewhere online already, but I only found links to purchase older issues of the magazine.)
EDIT: I should also make sure to credit the people who ACTUALLY put this thing together!
