Having accomplished a successful resurrection of Pirates!, and with the Civilization franchise better than ever, Sid Meier has decided to pull Colonization out of the vault and work his magic.
It evidently uses the Civ4 engine (Gamebryo, I think), but isn't an add-on for Civ but it's own game. I never played it (my first exposure to Sid was Civ2, and the Civilization series is my favorite among video games) but know many who wax nostalgic at its awesomeness. If you are among them, or if you merely like the concept (start a colony in the New World and advance until you can declare independence from your European Motherland), prepare to be happy.
