If it's just me against you this year, I'm gonna have one KICKASS team.
I'm in, as always! Sorry to dilute the talent in your uber two team league.
I'm in.

Who's ready to knock me off the top of the heap? 'Cause I plan on being there again in '08.

i need starving dog in here to reign us all in.
I totally forgot we had a keeper league and if I remember right I have Peterson wooo hooo for me.
I'm in, and I'd advise you, I finished in the Top 100 of the ESPN Euro 2008 competition. Out of 76,000. Oh wait, are you talking about football football?!
I played in the B league last year, but I'm up for joining if you've got an open slot (don't know how that'd work with "keepers" and all).
I've never played in a CHUD Fantasy Football league, but I'm no stranger to the game. I'm in if you'll have me.

You punk!!! I lost by less than 2 points (IIRC) to you in the semis, and I would've destroyed Wease in the finals, if you hadn't beaten me!!! <shakes fist> I will gets my revenge!
whoops! duplicate post.

And, to reply to the original post: It's NEVER too soon for fantasy football.

Hmm... I just checked my Yahoo profile, and I apparently didn't play last year. I think the old two leagues were combined into 1 league, and I responded too slow... and by the time a second league formed, I had joined too many other leagues and decided to pass.

Anyway, I realize I probably can't enter the keeper league (unless someone quits and you need a fill-in), but if a "B" league starts to form, let me know.
I'll play anywhere there is room.

I ran the B-league last year, if needed I can do it again.
I've never done this whole fantasy football thing but I would love to give it a go. I'm in if there is room.

My team is pretty bad too. Clinton Portis, Brandon Marshall, Derek Anderson, Kellen Winslow, and Michael Turner are my best options. Portis is a given, but Marshall may end up with a suspension thanks to a DUI, and my Turner gamble fizzled after he went to the shitty Falcons.

My rookie keeper is Sidney Rice. My only hope is that Favre becomes a Viking.

Sign me up.
Got the invite. Are we going to be able to lock our keepers on Yahoo, or do we need to tell you about it, SD?
I haven't figured that out yet. I guess tell me and we'll see what we can do.

I disagree. Despite the Falcons sucking, they always average 5.0 yds per carry thanks to their blocking schemes. I think Turner will be good there.
OK. Here is the situation. It will let me assign keepers to teams pre-draft, so post in here and let me know your three keepers.

It also looks like all our message board posts after October were lost in the fucking redesign. That fucking figures.

I set the draft date for Monday Aug 18 8:30pm CDT

I am going to go and figure out the players now.

We're keeping 3 players and 1 '07 rookie, yes? Honestly, I could care less about keeping a rookie.

EDIT: I'm looking at my 2007 final roster, and I'm like, "Justin Gage? Really? What the hell was I doing?"
Can we trade before the draft? Like if someone has a 4 good players can we trade a first rounder for that person as long as that person is our keeper?

I coulda sworn the rookie thing was cool and I know I kept a guy on my roster because of it.
So how many can we keep is it 3 and a rookie or 3 total. It makes a big differance for me and in who I keep.
I know it is 3 regular players. If it is a rookie as well, it is 4 players ( 3 + a rookie)

And we can trade players for picks as long as the draft has not started yet. However, everyone must have 16 picks in teh draft, so the trade would have to be:

player X and my Y round pick for your first round pick
post #31 of 214
How are you guys viewing your players? I just registered, but I can't see mine.
Where the teams are listed click on ALL TIME

The page that comes shows the last five years of our league. Your team should be the fourth one listed. Just click on your team name

Who are you keeping?

Also anyone interested in a #1 reciever and wants to trade a RB I'm game. T.J. Houshmandzadeh is available. Willing to trade for your #2 back or #1 pick and TJ for your #1 back.
I'll keep Plaxico Burress, Braylon Edwards, and Justin Fargas. I don't have any returning rookies on my team.

Oh, and thanks for the info.
I will keep

Frank Gore
Jason Witten
Larry Fitzgerald

and my rookie

Adrian Peterson
After the last three sign in, I'll do the keepers and all that...

If you change your team name let me know your old name and your new one.
After much searching of the soul, I'm keeping:

ALPHARETTA MARTIANS

Larry Johnson (yeah, I know, I'm a hypocrite)
Ryan Grant (dude, just sign your new contract)
Tony Romo (rhymes with 'homo')
Greg Olsen (the only rookie I have on my roster)
I changed my team name from Sammy's Titans to Lightning Bolt!
Chilltown Express is now Whedon's Dollhouse

My Keepers

Rookie Keeper

Question - Does a rookie keeper take the place of a 4th round pick, or a last round pick?

I'll keep someone for a last round pick, but none of my rookies are worth a fourth.
good question... I don't think it will let someone draft twice in a round though. Automated drafts are tricky like that.

If not everyone is keeping a rookie then you might have to give those that don't a shitty player nobody will draft(Rex Grossman/Kyle Orton) so that if the rookie is slotted in the 4th round then many of us with rookies could get passed over.
Unrealistic Mofos

Keepers:

QB Carson Palmer
RB Brian Westbrook
RB Earnest Graham

Rookie:

K Mason Crosby
Heh heh. At least you got your kicker out of the way...

Still trying to figure out who to keep. Portis is set in stone, but I'm not sure about the other two spots. If a rookie is worth a last rounder, or we do the Anya idea, then I'll take a chance with Sidney Rice.
I think we are still waiting for Dillain's Villains and swaetersbydarwin to sign in. After that I will start working on the keepers
post #49 of 214
I completely forgot it was a keeper league. Sorry for the delay all! Honestly, I haven't been around here as much. As a Kansas alum, I've been masturbating to videotapes of the Orange Bowl and NC game fortnightly so checking in on Chud has become a secondary concern.

I will keep:

Randy Moss
Terrell Owens
Tony Gonzalez

I don't have any rookies.

Replacing Dillains Villains...

NP Drunkards

Keepers:

Payton Manning
Roddy White
DeAngelo Williams
