What horror film have you watch on dvd recently (with pics)

Hey everybody , kinda new here , am a big horror buff , so for my first thread it`s normal that i start a with a wath have you watch thread since there was none here . like i said am a big horror buff , but the horror genre is probably the genre that has more straight to dvd films then any other genre , so this thread helps me ( and others ) to see whats good , and theres also a lot of classics i still havent seen , and i also like to ear other peole thought on horror films. Youll see that i dip in any genre of horror films there is , and in any era`s ( gotta see 80's horror films are my fav) and in every languages ,

Well the game is easy , just post what you have watch horror related on dvd here ( or on dvd , or on line doeasnt really matter) ( you dont have to give a review but at least a rating) , you can give your opinion on films others have watch , you can also talk abotu the features of the dvd ( one of the reasons why i asl to see pics of the edition you watch) .

O.k so since it`s my first post on my new thread in a new forum ( well for me , I just jump ship , cuz were i was at there wasnt enough horror fans )
thats called Chud.com it seem proper that i pop in a dvd that had the same name :

8/10

Captain Bosch: Are you kidding? Your guy's got a camera. Mine's got a flamethrower.
Canibalistic humanoid underground dwellers , man i love this title only in the 80's would they come up with that shit . if you like creature flicks from the 80`s , i doubt your not a fan of this one . Nicely shot , nice fx the monsters are pretty creepy and well made , classic great 80s score ( I truly think the 80`s is the best era for horror films score , ) , good acting ( you can rarely go wrong with Daniel stern and John Eard) , decent script , decent and by times quite funny dialogue , I sure wish we could of scene that restaurant carnage scene , instead of just earing shots and scream , but at leats we saw John Goodman as cop .

10/10
Dr. Logan: But is he alive or dead? Well, that's the question nowadays isn't it? Let’s just say I let him continue to exist.

Day of the dead will always be my favorite zombie ( or Romero`s for that matter) flick of all time , and I truly think this is one if not the best zombie flick ever. Just by the title shot when the first zombie you see has no mouth and the make-up is gruesumly well done , you know your in for a threat . It has every thing other directors trie to incorporate in their zombie films recently ( not a lot really succeded at standing on their own) , a mad scientist and is not mad help , a buch of milatary sterotype rednecks , a kinda chick hero, 2 laid back island dreaming pilots , a kinda thinking zombie ( Bub truly brings something special to this film , ive always thought it was a shame we dint see him has the lead zombie in Land of the dead) and awesome fx`s and make-up some of the most well made zombie are in this , truly not made for the weak stomachs , that zombie eating fest near the end is pure eye candy( big fan of Tom Savini and is team , too bad he stop doing this kinda work) . Again it`s another 80's flick with a great memorable really well composed score . and that underground location was fantastic . I could go on and on , but if i stick around here youll probably see me watching this once in a while

John: I got an alternative, yeah, yeah, I got an alternative. Let's get in that old whirly-bird, find us an island some place, get juiced up and spend what time we got left soakin' up some sunshine! How's that?
Sarah: You could do that, couldn't you? With all thats going on, you could just do that without a second thought?
John: Right, I could do that even if all this *wasn't* going on!

Tucker: What about the sheep?
Angus Oldfield: Fuck the sheep!
Tucker: No time for that bro. Go go go!

Only from the land that brought you Dead Alive and Bad Taste ( man id give my left nut for Jackson to get back into horror) could could come a well done and hilirious film about zombie sheep and weresheep . This film was fucking hilirious , nicely writen and frankly it was quite a breath of fresh air for the zombie genre . I would not be be suprise if the company that did the fx and make-up belongs to Peter Jackson ( eard he owns almost everything film related there) , and they really did a nice job , at producing a some nice blood and gore and also a nice zombie baby sheep and the make-up and transformation for the weresheep is probably one of the best hommage to A american werewolf in London ive seen so far. Sheep shagging will always make me laugh so will a sheep pulling on a dick , funny stuff there

8.5/10

Exorcised Boy: Taste the darkness, D'Amour, it's been waiting for you.
It`s a shame Clive Barker has only written/directed 3 films , cuz Hellraiser , Nightbreed and Lord of Illusions are truly some of my favorite horror films of all times , at least some directors were able to bring some of is story's to screen ( with help of other writers) and we should see more , midnight meattrain looks awesome. Ive been hype for almost 2 years since ive eard the rumors that he should be writing/directing Tortures souls ( based on his toy serie release by McFarlane) , and ive been dreaming of his Abarat dark children fantasy novels to come to life for years, o.k enough of my love for this artist and on to his film
Clive Barkers takes us in deep into the world of , Illusions magic and horror with one of the best character he ever created Harry D'Amour , a kinda character like Constantine from the Hellblazers comics. To really apprecited this film you have to see the directors cut , some crucial elements that were cut for the theatrical released are aded in it , like what the cult members did to their familly before getting back to nix , also some dream sequence. Barker crafted a nice lilte film that really mix well Illusions and real dark magic , and he casted perfectly his film ( any one who ads Vicent Shiaveli in a film knows how to cast) and he also aded real magicians , and quite franckly that love scene with Fanke Janssen is pure eye candy the scenes were all the cult followers get stuck in the cement is too .

Butterfield: You ever watched a man die? If you watch very closely, you can sometimes see the soul escaping. And if you're very quick, you can catch it.

This guy uses more commas than Phil Owen.

And they are inexplicably located a space away from the word they follow.

I know this guy, and clearly English isn't his first language (he's also dyslexic among other things), so if you all wouldn't mind cutting him some slack you'd find that he knows his shit.

Lol dont feel like a dick , feel the dick , that always put a smile on my face , no seriously I found most of your post quite funny to tell you the truth.

Ok here's something i should of done at the start of the thread.
1- Like Tarkovsky said am French canadian , ive always been shitty in grammar , ponctuation or even line structure in french or in english doesnt really matter , ive always got by in those class's cuz am a good reader and talker
2-Am dyslexique : theres more then one kind of dyslexie , My 2 main problem are : I switch letters while am writing and typing ( ex: that could be writen Taht , atht ect...) and when i type i may type any leters that sorrounding the letter i wanna write ( this is really a bitch) ex : drive could be srive , erive , frive ect.....
3-When am not working am a huge pothead , so that also doesnt help my grammar and dyslexie
4- Now this reason am not sure if it`s part dyslexie or part pothead : sometimes when i wanna write a word that am thinking I may write a completly different word ( that most of the time it's gonna be in a coming line) or ill write a word that sounds the same but doesnt spell the same , but while am writing in my head an sure am writing thw write words. .
5-Am to lazy to used spell check since it would take me so fucking long to correct everything , I do recheck my post most of the times and trie to spot all the mistakes , most of my mistakes I go WTF

If you wanna go ahead and bash my spelling go I dont really care but please at least have the decency to had a comment about my opinions or comments on horror film you just saw , and i know that Jakespear just saw Return of the living , dint see why you dint post 2 or 3 lines about it , ive been a fan of that film since am like 9 years old ( I had a crush on that naked punck zombie chick) , thinking about it , am cravin it , should pop it in the dvd in days to come . my next post will be about Bloodrayne from the director everybody loves to hate

and for the coma`s well thats my fench background , they used a lot of it while writing , I cant seem to wirte without it , dont know why

It seems so at the moment, I dont really care have wanted to have a wild shithead farm for years.

well I doubt ill get banned for shitty grammar and it takes a lot to bother me on line , so they will probably tire themself out before i give up on this thread or just join in on the discusions. But thanks for the back up bud

anyway back to my thread subject

Darius the Kid: Can I see your teeth?

I could go on and on about all the flaws this film has , it`s your typical Uwe Boll film with all the typical Uwe Boll flaws : Misscasting , bad/ rush directing , cheesy dialogue , plot holes , lack of interest from certain actors , useless camera shots ( most of them expensive ones ) , ect.... But even if i can spot every flaws this film has it really doesnt change that this is a true guilty pleasure for me that will always have a place in my collection , so ill just post why this is a guilty pleasure for me.
1- I find that this film contains more then decent fx and make-up , specially in the batles , cheesy and simple choreagraphy but great blood and gore , that blade true the head is really nicely done . So the horror buff in me was satisfied and the vampires are nicely done too
2- The cast that wasnt misscast , really did a great job and are mostly actors I love to see , I have yet to see a bad performance from Sir Kingsley , and gotta say he was pretty creepy , i also think udo Kier , Meatloaf and Billy Zane were perfect ( theatrical over the top acting is sometimes quite entertaining )
3- That dungeon sex scene with Kristanna Loken is pure candy to my eyes
4-Even with all the plot holes I find the story to be decent
5-I suprisingly love the way Boll finished is Underated cut ( i dont recomend the rated one)

too bad Boll dint learn from this film and hired the same fx and make-up team for Bloodrayne 2 ( theres mostly no fucking blood and she rarely uses her unique swords , it turn into a b shoot em up western) and In the name of the king , They probably would of turn into guilty pleasure with a bit of nudity and lots of blood and gore instead of turning into film I wouldnt recomend

I liked the shithead farm line, that was good. But defending BloodRayne? Now that's just crazy talk.

lol I do think that am border line crazy but not enough to defend a Uwe Boll film . At the begining of my post i do point out that I could go on and on on the many flaws this film has , because it is a bad film . But for me it turn into a ``so bad it's good`` type a film and I was defending why this film became a guilty pleasure for me .

I will never defend Uwe Boll as a director either , he is truly one of the worst directors that will always astonishe me with some original mistakes and will bore me with is usual mistakes . But i would defend him as a producer dho , he does a good job at finding funds for his films , he is able to get some fine actors for most of is film, he is able to get his hands on game rights that a lot of people are fighting for , his locations sets and costumes are quite decent and most of the cgi ,fx and make-up companies he hires do a great job , . ( except for In the name of the king . The monsters were so badly made that you never get a face shot or a good body shot , it`s hilarious) . Hope one day he will realise that his only talent is producing , he fucking sucks at directing

Well Jakespear's litle comments on Return of the living gave me a craving to watch the first zombie film i ever fell in love with and the first naked punk girl i ever had a crush on

7.5/10

Frank: Did you see that movie, "Night of the Living Dead"?
Freddy: Yeah, that's where the corpses started eating the people, right?
Frank: Yeah - did you know that movie was based on a true case?

welcome to a zombie film were everyone is doomed from the start . How can you survive in a world were zombies talks and even if you shoot them in the brain, cut off their heads ect.... they will not fall .You trie to burn em` and the fumes will only get mixed in the rain and the rain will bring back the dead to life , even the ones that are only skeletons ( they still have eyes dho) . It's truly the end of the world and truly makes one of the most entertaining zombie flicks ever .

Dan O`Bannon had a brilliant idea to detach himself from the zombie film Romero was making and ad a strong horror comedy vibe to his zombie flick. People who think Shaun of the dead is the first zombie comedy have got to check this film and it`s sequel out . Theres nothing more hilarious to ear a zombie say Send.....more.....paramedics .And when the second paramedics unit gets suckered to go and the zombies jump out of their hiding places and tackles them like a football team always gets me bawling with laughter. The entire dialogue for this film is hilarious . but something that always kinda get overshadowed is the great chemistry between James Karen , Thom Mattews and Clu Gulagar . Most of the cast went on on beeing horror vets , I love to still see on screen. oh big big fan of the Tar zombie , would love to see it into a toy by MacFarlane toys

check out some interesting trivia about the film here : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089907/trivia

Burt Wilson: I thought you said if we destroyed the brain, it'd die?
Frank: It worked in the movie!
Burt Wilson: Well, it ain't workin' now, Frank!
Freddy: You mean the movie lied?

Hi Tarkovsky and hello Rocho and everyone else, finally we do meet at yet another movie forum and am liking CHUD so far. Am also new and let’s see I happen to appreciate films from all around the globe (Hollywood, Bollyhood and anything foreign) as well as all other genres, you name it and if I like the story line… I bet you, I’ll be there~ And I don’t think it’s a bad idea to post the movie images as far as am concerned since some color on the threads won’t be such a bad idea~

I second you on that, because having been with Rocho on another movie forum and knowing he's Canadian French, he still knows his shit quite well and he's a wonderful human being. So let's not attack his grammar, how many people watch movies but can't speak a word of English? Big Deal as long as they understand the movie. In any case, no one is perfect here~
