It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 4 - Page 2

I like how they've gone down to 13 eps from 15 last season. I felt they were kinda straining at the seams to produce their best with that many eps.

Terrible. Take a lap.
I half-assed it. This is the second 2,000th post post after I lost a shit load during the revamp. I didn't give it my all.

But Charlie did.

Saw an ad on FX last night for a new show starting on the 9th that looks like another 1/2 hour comedy. So maybe we will only have 2 weeks of back to backers.

Just finished watching "Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire" and "Mac is a Serial Killer" I can't wait for tonight.
I love the contrast between the awsomeness of Sunny and the complete shit of the Dane Cook movie that the network has been pimping during the first episode.

And I don't know if it has been the absence of the show for over a year or if it has just gotten a hundred times funnier, but the first episode had me in tears with laughter.

"THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD!!!"
I licked a cat's fanny!

Charlie makes the show every time.
Hey, you're the guy holdin' the hot plate.
Mac driving the van and smashing into everything killed me. I was seriously cracking from that.
Oh God, Charlie jumping out the van killed me.

"I cut the brakes. Wildcard bitches!"
Do they give pulitzers to tv shows? I don't think so, but water boarding and the ghostbusters them definitely deserves something.
That was the funniest episode that I've ever seen. Fucking great stuff.

"Wildcard!"
Loved the second ep. The boys fighting over who gets to bang the loan officer, towelhead Mac, Ghostbusters playing in the van, and of course, Charlie as the oilman was great. "Ma'am, we're here to fill you up!"
The second episode was hands-down the funniest episode of Sunny made so far.

Dennis using the urinal next to Sweet Dee's head just sent it into tasteless heaven.
Now Frank has been John McClane and Rambo. I think in a future episode he needs to be his old costar to complete the Planet Hollywood action star trifecta.
"Now you're just talking like Foghorn Leghorn!"

Solid fucking gold.
Gah, comedy overload. I honestly have no idea where to begin. I guess:

We're going to hit you right where it hurts.
In the dick.

This for me was the best moment in either of the new episodes. I was crying from laughing so hard.

Dee and Charlie arguing whether or not it was racist to not want to eat a black man was also good.
The second episode was the funniest thing I've seen in my entire life. Hands down. No contest.

"WILDCARD, BITCHES!"
Texan Charlie. Not as good as Serpico Charlie, but pretty good.

What's up with Devito's hair? It's weirdin me out.

The first episode had it's moments but episode 2 was clearly superior.

I almost fell outta my chair when Mac was stealing the rape van. I was laughing so hard. I almost couldn't breath during the "wildcard Bitches" scene. It was so damned great. And the Ghostbusters theme playing in the background...so good.

Also, can't forget Sweet Dee's plan to kill Dennis and Frank.
Would it be cynical of me to suggest that the staff writers did most of the work in episode 1 and Charlie Day did most of the work in episode 2? Because I swear, Charlie got all the best lines in ep 2 and all of the best moments came in ep 2. Ep 1 was really disappointing, didn't get many laughs from me at all, but ep 2 was fucking great. I feel dirty even talking about a drop of quality, I love this show too much.

Wildcard, bitches!
I got to that "gasping for breath" stage during, "Wildcard, bitches!" Goddamn. I haven't laughed so hard by myself in a long long time. And I'm glad I was by myself, cause I woulda looked a fool. Such a wonderfully crass and bizarre and fucked up show.
"That's not crazy, that's the exact plot to Jaws 4."

Charlie Day really is the lynchpin of this show, him practicing his wild-card faces were pretty fucking great.

Side note: it's so great when they show establishing shots of Philly and then cut to what's obviously california in a lot of shots. I think they only shoot a handful of scenes in Philly.

Great show. Just great.
As already mentioned, lots of hilarious moments last night.

I also laughed everytime Frank said "human meat". And I was much impressed by Rickety Cricket's parkour skills.

I'm so glad this show is back. I watch some other TV comedies, but this is the only one that gets me laughing to tears.
Ep 2 was just brilliant line after brilliant line, but in Ep 1 I absolutely lost my shit during this exchange.

"Now hear me out, we go to the morgue."

"You don't even have to explain it to me! That's where dead bodies are. I have a hot plate."

"I'll get some beer."

Completely lost my shit, and watched the repeat right after again.
Loved that too, BillyG. "You're the one who smears yogurt on his ass."

The whole cannibal subplot was way funnier than the manhunt one (except for Frank's Rambo obsession). Though, I did enjoy Dennis' gorilla mask, and I'm still laughing and horrified that Mac's mouth was inexplicably colored purple from being t-bagged.

In the second ep, I loved them figuring out what roles they play in their gang.

"What am I?"
"The useless chick."
Oh, man, my abdomen still hurts from laughing last night and reading these posts isn't helping. Whew. The second episode was absolutely incredible, but I'll toss out these other favorites from the first episode:

"Monkeys are like nature's humans."

"We have monkey."

"RACOON MEAT!!!"

And the fact that, to hunt humans in an urban setting, Mac and Dennis constructed a blind that looked like a homeless person's box.

Welcome back, Sunny. I needed that.
There should be a drinking game where everytime one of the characters says the word "rape" or makes a reference to being raped, you have to take a shot. You'll be talking like Foghorn Leghorn in no time.

It was from the ink.
In the first episode when Mac and Dennis bust in on Diandra and Charlie getting ready to eat the fat guy, then Dee and Charlie explain the whole cannibal thing Dennis just goes "Listen, I don't give a shit about any of this." and goes on with what he was doing. Almost died laughing.

Great episodes.

Wow, you cracked the secret of most shows set somewhere other than Los Angeles.

More than a few, I think. I have some friends up there, and they are constantly shooting in and around their spot in the city. So much, so...it's barely a "thing" anymore...

But, a great show, indeed.

The 1st ep. of the premiere had it's moments...(Sweet Dee can certainly gnaw-on-me, anyday...), but "Gas Crisis" was hilarious...

So glad to have this back!!
Yeah, Dee eating like a bird had my girl and I crying. Such a great show.
The first episode hardly did anything for me, but Gas Crisis was terrific. Charlie as the oilman was awesome.

You left out the best part, right after Dee starts to explain, Charlie chimes in "SOLD!"

God I love this show. Charlie jumping out the back of the van, "Wild card, Bitches!", I laughed for about ten minutes.

Does anyone else use "what's up, bitches?" in the real world? (or any variance on Mac's use of bitches)
I was telling a friend about episode 1 because it was pretty easy to explain but episode 2 was impossible. That was the most far out, fantastic half hour that I've seen in a long while.

God I love this show.

Almost every day.
I gotta admit, Mac is my least favorite character. Even Dee, who is usually relegated to the background, is more interesting to me.
My order of favouritism is Charlie > Mac > Frank > Dee = Dennis

He probably gets the least laughs, but I love how completely and utterly worthless he is. Granted the entire group is made up of worthless individuals, but the fact that someone would latch onto that group like he does and essentially become the tag along is funny in an incredibly pathetic way.

You guys are right, which is kind of interesting, because Rob Mcelhenny is the show's creator, and writes a lot of the episodes (he and Glen/Dennis). I've always kind of figured Charlie and Frank take turns being the straight man. Well, the closest thing to a straight man that this show will allow. I loved both episodes last week, by the way. Gas-man Charlie was great, but I don't think anything has eclipsed Serpico Charlie.
Mac definitely takes a background seat to the others most of the time, but when he's thrust in the foreground, he usually delivers. Case in point, the Mac is a serial killer episode, or the one where his Dad gets out of prison.

Thing is, he may be the most fucked up individual among that crew, er gang, and that's really saying something.

Loved the little moment during the gas crisis episode where he's in the van looking on, and they point back to him and he's looking all kinds of creepy trying to see what's going on.
Also, Mac fight dances. So he's got that going for him. And the dumpster baby episode with him and Dee is still fantastic.
I guess I love Mac.

"Did they let my dad out of prison, lady?"

"How would I know that?"

Sorry if I mangle the lines, whatever.
