Josh Brolin & Jeffrey Wright throw down

SHREVEPORT, La. - Actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, along with members of a crew filming an Oliver Stone movie, were arrested during a bar fight Saturday morning, police said.

Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said Brolin, Wright and five others were arrested just after 2 a.m. at a club called the Stray Cat bar.

A call to deal with a rowdy patron drew interference from other patrons, Lewis said.

The Times of Shreveport reported that Brolin was booked and posted $334 cash bond to be released. Police could not say Saturday night whether he or the others had been released. The paper said they are part of the crew on an Oliver Stone film, "W," about President George W. Bush.

A call to Brolin's publicist was not immediately returned Saturday night.

"W" began filming in May in Shreveport. Brolin plays President Bush and Wright plays former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

The cast also includes Elizabeth Banks as first lady Laura Bush, Ellen Burstyn and James Cromwell as the elder Bushes and Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Brolin appeared in three films last year, "In the Valley of Elah," "American Gangster" and "No Country for Old Men," which won the best-picture Oscar.

Wright won a Tony Award for "Angels in America" on Broadway and a Golden Globe for the same role in the television miniseries. He also has appeared in "Syriana," "Ali" and "Casino Royale."

"W" is Stone's third presidential film, following "Nixon" and "JFK." He also directed the Vietnam sagas "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Platoon," which won four Oscars including best picture and director.

The Academy Award-winning director only began shopping his script for financing in January, but has quickly captured the interest of investors and Hollywood.

Stone has said the film, which will focus on the life and presidency of Bush, won't be an anti-Bush polemic, but, as he told Daily Variety, "a fair, true portrait of the man. How did Bush go from being an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world?"

Did they fight each other? or were they fighting as an awesome killing machine duo against a common enemy?

Peoples has the icepick. He wins.

They were in redneck country. I imagine they were defending their right to make a movie about King Cock.
Does Brolin have his mustache in the film? If he does he automatically wins, if not he might have had to actually put up a fight.

They were hardly in redneck country. Sounds like the boys and the crew had a good night though. I remember Clooney almost got into a bar fight in a suburb of Jackson, MS when filming O Brother. Problem with filming in Shreveport is there isn't much to do after you get done besides drink or hit the casinos.

I'm in love with the image of Brolin and Wright fighting back-to-back, taking on all-comers.

I'm just going to pretend that's what actually happened and go to sleep with a smile on my face.

Featuring Brolin from the Nightwatch remake and Wright from the Shaft remake.

I was so happy the other day spotting Brolin in In the Valley of Elah - he's got the 'tache, he's a badass.

As for Wright and Brolin kicking ass side by side, I like to throw in the idea of clasping hands at one point, switching positions and kicking a redneck in the head at the same time, kinda like Chan and Tucker in Rush Hour.

Make these two the next buddy pairing now please.

They should scrap W and make the movie about Powell and Bush being the new Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

Stop it, stop it, please - you're getting me all excited! Just make sure Brolin has the pornstache, and I'm as good as there.

Yeah, the mental images from Dax and sackley's posts just made my weekend, and I've already seen Hellboy 2, had free steak two nights in a row, got a beej, and found $40 in an old pair of shorts.

That's how much I want a Wright/Brolin buddy-cop film.

Please, tell me somebody broke a chair on a redneck's back. Even better, tell me an orang-utan was involved in the brawl. I'll settle for a chimp in a cowboy outfit.

Isn't anyone going to point out the glaring bit of miscasting with Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice? I would've gone with that dude who played Jar Jar.

Well good news, in a stunning turn of events, that's exactly what the movie Brolin and Wright are working on is about.

Yeah, for a second I thought this was about them getting into a fight on set, but the reality is so much more, more, awesome.

As for the power of Brolin's Stasche, let's not forget "American Gangster," of which he's one of the best parts.

'Necks are just lucky Dreyfuss wasn't rolling with them that night.

Brolin has a David Beckham thing going on there. If he's good at soccer too, i'm converting my Xenu shrine into a full blown Brolin adoration space.

Hey, it was the right thing to do. And Stone could fill in for Glover's garbeled speech.

Vince Vaughn & Steve Buscemi could still take 'em.

So... Is that like from another movie or something? Jesus.

My respect for Brolin grew a bit more in that video,he seemed very protective over Jeffrey Wright until they were pulled apart.

How many cops wanted to taser Wright?it looked like three had a go in quick succession.I can understand doing it to wear a person down but Wright looked placid in the first place once he was on his stomach.

(If i was a cop i would have tasered the woman with the camera, jesus, she was squawking.)

Yeah, he seemed more concerned with protecting him than with his own safety. The police response looked excessive to me.

In their defense, Wright IS black guy. Something about tasers being naturally attracted to darker skin, something to do with magnets. It was in the New England Journal of Medicine. Feel free to look it up.

Of course he was protective. Brolin knew exactly what would happen to a black guy in Louisiana. Wright was handcuffed on the ground with a cop's knee in his back, which of course meant he still needed to be immobilized by tasers and pepper spray. Fuck the police!

Much cheerier post-tasering video. The prophecy has been fulfilled.

They have chemistry.

Let's play "What will Josh Brolin say next?"

Witty, piss-taking raconteur or trainwreck in the making? I'm leaning towards the former! His comments about the great Richard Jenkins - his FLIRTING WITH DISASTER co-star, don't forget - are priceless.
