360 Screen Discoloration - WTF?

I've only really noticed it with GTAIV, but every once in a while my screen will get completely discolored. I've just now started to see it happening while logged into the XBL Dashboard, and it's freaking me out. Anyone had a similar issue? Do I need new component cables?

if you're running component cables they might be going...I had a set of Monster Cables, for whatever reason, come loose internally and my playthrough of The Darkness became The Blueness.

Yeah, I had a problem like that with my old xbox (just bought a new one). I had a hd component cable plugged into the back of the tv. What I did was just unplug everything, replugged everything after a few minutes, and it worked.

If you have the chance, go for HDMI.

Is the screen turning green? If so then your video card is about to bite it, I would suggest that if you call XBOX support you tell them you have the red ring of death because if not you will be stuck with a system that just plays the sound of the game and no picture.

I don't know if that'll work. I know a guy who's xbox died for other reasons than rrod and he told xbox support it rrod'd. When he sent it in for repairs, they billed him and told him it was out of warranty and the xbox did not rrod when tested before repair.

My xbox had problems with reading xbox games, but not dvds. I kept it for a few months after my initial problem and eventually it rrod'd. I sent mine in and haven't gotten it back yet. I just bought a new one and I'm giving the repaired one to my sister.

One thing I would recommend if you use HD and your tv only has one HD setup... buy a HD switch. I was having some problems pulling the HD cords out everytime I went from tv to game and vice versa. The switch now goes automatically (or manually if you set it up) whenever you turn on the xbox. It's really convenient.
