Woman hit by lightning, caught it on camera

Caught this while checking out some random flickr pages. This woman was recording a lightning storm from her back porch, when it hit right near her, and apparently made contact with her!

I tried to catch some lightning shots last night (completely failed), but this has me slightly rethinking my use of a big metal tripod when doing so. Even if the lightning was way off in the distance...

Fellow chewer Seabass had some better luck capturing it yesterday.

That's really intense. Her scream will haunt me... for about 2 minutes, then i'll forget about it.

If I'm ever struck by lightning, I hope I'm able to keep my wits together enough to yell out "Shazam!" when it happens.

I imagine it was a different storm, me not having a zoom lens that can see Florida yet.
