Horror RECOMMENDATION or WARNING thread.

Didn't want to create a thread specifically for some cruddy DTV flick I haven't seen yet, but I thought that some other Chewers may have jumped on an obscure horror grenade or 2. This could be the dumping ground for mass opinion requests.

Anyone see DEAD MOON RISING? Avoid? I'll admit the cover has me curious. Netflix has it on Instant Play, but I'm wondering if I should even waste my time. If no one else can weigh in, I'll take a peak. World record largest zombie scene?

EDIT: Nevermind. Looks amateurish as hell. Oh well, the thread still stands.

I looks quite watchable for a indie zombie flick if your into indie horror flicks
post #5 of 10271
If you get curious about the work of German writer / director Timo Rose (Barricade, Lord of the Undead), get uncurious; you'll thank me when you don't get pulled into the blackhole of suck that his "films" create.

*AVOID* *AVOID* *AVOID*

Wanting to know about Black Ops, or any other depressing third rate looking shite starring Lance Henriksen that I'm not willing to waste a free BB rental on.

The plot summary I read definitely made it sound like one. Might have been one of those bullshit blurbs written by someone who has never seen the movie, though.

Ah. Netflix said this:

In the Persian Gulf, a World War II-era battleship has been reactivated for use in covert operations, or "black ops." When command loses contact, a band of highly trained Marines board the ship and discover most of the crew brutally murdered. Now, the survivors of the massacre and the rescue team are targets of the same deadly terrorist responsible for the carnage. Lance Henriksen and James Russo star in this white-knuckle thriller.

But the viewer reviews make it out to be "an even worse, if that's possible" GHOST SHIP knock-off.

I'm not sure if this counts, but Machine Girl is one of the most fun films I've seen in a long time. Get some friends and some beers and watch that film if you like gore and humor.
Anybody here see Meatball Machine?

Do you just like attacking people unnecessarily because you have nothing else to do or what? Am a chic and i post my thoughts if you have a problem with that sue me or talk to the moderators but quite attacking me and am not now or ever going to indulge in some argument with you, because it's quite meaningless. Learn to treat people with a little respect. Have you seen me attacking your posts? Am too old for such shit so do what you like and am very good at ignoring people like you!
So you're saying "peeked my interest" wasn't a joke?
Read that last post and ask again.

Dude, the chic peeked.

Jeez, I hope this thread doesn't get closed due to the invasion.
Oh. Message board fight! It's Minsky vs Larv, who will win?

(Seriously, Minsky, just ignore this buffoon, he too slow to be saved anyway)
Aint July the best month to go to Montreal ( or in your case to live there) .You have a stand-up comic festival and a horror film festival at the same time . The two things i enjoy the most in the form of entertainment. But sadly this year me and the wife were only able to get our vacation time starting the 25ft . So this year we can not enjoy any of the two .This year I can only enjoy the trailers and crave the films till they hit dvd. Ive posted a thread here with the link for the all of trailers . Sure would know wich film your gonna attend and even some feedback on them after

Good call, and if i needed saving this would be the last place I'd come to for that. And i don't see this as a fight for win nor can i really categorize it as a fight, but a matter of difference in opinion which is okay since we all think differently and we're here to exchange our different views. Anyways let's keep talking about movies...

You know, this thread would have to be classed as WARNING, and should be avoided, but I'm afraid Larv and elrocho will keep spreading.

I guess we don't but do you care to enlighten us? Am all for learning how to behave on a movie forum any day. So i will be happy to learn a few tricks from anyone who feels i have overstepped my boundaries in posting my views!
We should start a "Rules for Newbies" thread, and I'd suggest the following as a start:

- When expressing your opinion, use the same language as the majority of readers; and,
- Don't threaten to fight someone in PM and then post your picture when you don't know what THEY look like.

Thank you and as an American i thought i was speaking pretty good English, but let me know what you didn't understand in any of my posts with a quoted correction that is universally acceptable as to how i should have posted then i will correct that but only if i feel and agree that your version is correct. DEAL?

I challenge you to write a longer sentence than this. Come on!

Honestly what do you have against new people on here? I have nothing against any old forum members so what is it? Am happy to talk to people with equal respect to others and their threads and would think we can all get along and discuss movies and other things, so I'll see you all around the forum.

God damn, where is DaveB when you need him?
DaveB doesn't want any part of this nonsense.
He did such a good job of grading and correcting Swedish Miyagi's posts, though. I would do it, but I'm afraid I'm just not up to the task. His grammar skills are sorely needed.

I never understood Nick's affinity with the term 'douche'.

...until now.

Anybody have an opinion on these? Saw them sitting on the shelf at Blockbuster and I hesitated.

I think the Dimension Extreme label is more than enough of a warning. The other two are guilty by association.

Loved it. Wrote a review here.

And Larv, just so you know, the initial jab at you for your grammar/spelling is that the word you meant to use is "piqued". After that, your failure to use punctuation became the major point of discussion.

In case it happens again, at least now you'll know why.
