I'm sure you'll all be hugely surprised that Spiders 3-D is beyond terrible but God damn some of the scenes in this are almost porn level, particularly those involving the US army, which are so poorly put together you'd think the director is an AQ sympathiser

I miss when 3-D was really fun!

I'd love to see that on the big screen in that format. Watching it on DVD (even upconverted if you watch it on a Blu-Ray player and big TV) just isn't the same.

Yes, I do happen to enjoy the remake, even though I know that a lot of people online don't really like it. The 3D stuff there was pretty nice.

I don't plan on reading the article but one of these years I should watch that film, as I have heard some of the insanity you get to see and I imagine it would be great to laugh at.

That sounds so bad... I almost want to see it. What's wrong with me?

Earlier tonight I saw a film that I don't need to say too much about as many here should be fans of it: the original My Bloody Valentine. The unrated version is much preferred, as the added stuff to the kills make them all the more effective, as there are nasty and bloody kills throughout. Some of the characters I didn't mind see get killed in a vicious fashion, as they were at times real annoying. Overall, I enjoy both the original and the remake, for different reasons.

A few nights ago I watched the old '70s Amityville Horror on tv.  The thing is, I know it's stupid and nothing happens, but I had chills through the whole movie.  It's so scary to me, still.  Just those shots of the house, and that music, and GET OUT!

Yes I know! I've had that pre-ordered for a month. Their blu of They Live was really great. I was finally able to throw out my super old region 2 DVD.

So agree.  Saw it 3 times in 3-D in the 80's.  Blew my socks off.  That little cut scene with the kid holding the baseball bat.  amazing stuff.

Wait...What?  Didn't even know he was doing this?  I'm all in.  Loved his last two movies.

MY SOUL TO TAKE is kind of Wes Craven's RAISING CAIN. A throwback to his niche genre, but with weird, crazy flourishes and directorial touches (and in this case studio interference) that often don't quite work. The movie is a failure, but an interesting one. At its best, it feels like a waking nightmare.

It's been awhile since I've seen My Soul to Take, but I still have the condor scene fresh in my mind.  I thought it was one of the few scenes where Craven was having fun, even if it was still a crazy idea.

I finally got around to watch Cabin in the Woods. I actually liked the film. It had a lot of hidden treasures and gore. Adding many horror films into was was different to see but for me it worked

Hatchet 3 should be out soon.

My roommate was invited by a friend of his that worked on it to go to the release party tonight.

Hostel 3 had a good idea, in theory, to make a horror movie version of the Hangover, but ultimately just offered warmed up left overs. The face flaying scene gets a solid B+ though. A couple decent asshole performances as well.

I really enjoyed Mama.   I heard some negatives about it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.  You care about the characters.  Scares are earned.  Just a solid good little horror movie.
