Has anyone else read this one? Young adult fiction, but I picked it up at the library since I read Doctorow on BoingBoing.
Wow. Really, really great books. If I had to give you a player pitch for it it would be this: it's Harry Potter meets Wargames.
The basic premise is a kid is out with his friends playing an ARG when there is an attack on San Francisco. He gets picked up by the Dept of Homeland Security. After finally being released he decides to fight back using technology.
I love that the book drops so much information on you. You could spend months going through everything he brings up and researching those things. I really think this should be one of those books that becomes required reading for kids in high school. For me, I was just mad by the end since I could see this happening; and if this happened to my son, I could only imagine the anger I would have.
By the way, here is a cool list of how-to's inspired by the book.
