20 Worst Movie Endings

As far as annoying lists go, this might set a new standard.

2001? There Will Be Blood? Citizen Freakin' Kane?!? Ugh.
It's a list where the retard took some of the best movies of all time and put them there just to get hits.
Wow, so many points so spectacularly missed.
Damn...you got that right.

Sadly, hits don“t equal punches in this case.
They forgot to add Casablanca and Chinatown to the list. Lame.
Yep, like wandering around in an idiot's brain for a while. The only one that really pissed me off? The Great Dictator. And propogating the whole "nuked the fridge" lameness.
You'd think someone from England would stick up for the ending of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
You would also think no one was that stupid to begin with. Damn internets.

Well, I'm sure it's an act of provocation, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. That special person could be both.
I'm completely astounded at the stupidity of that list. I mean, I've seen some bad ones in my time cruising around these ol' tubes we call the internets, but jeebus, this one takes the cake.
I've got nothing against taking on sacred cows, but at least do so with something a little more intelligent than "Me no like ending."
I agree with Return of the King.

Pick a fucking ending and end already.
If you're clearly that uninterested in cinema or that incapable of reading a film, what the hell are you even watching The Great Dictator for? Is this a gag list?

The sad thing is that this list was put together by a group of writers . . . it was like they all took turns to see who could come up with the stupidest point.

EDIT: I don't mind ROTK's long ending, save for that wince-worthy Hobbit pillowfight.
Seriously? This is just epic I mean they give some of the greatest movies of all time crap. This has to be some sort of joke that we are missing. I also find it great that the review is fine with crystal skull except the ruin was a space ship. By the way anyone who says "and don't get me started" needs to be drug out into the street and shot.

And that they failed to mention the true horrible ending, the wedding.

This list blows. What a joke.

Put this on the top of a "Worst Movie Lists" list.

Hobbit foreplay
God, I regret clicking that link. Magnolia and TWBB back-to-back? FUCK YOU.
The ending to Holy Grail is great.

A perfect punchline to what seemed like a random gag half way through the film.

No you fool we evidently needed some epic battle and closure. After all thats what Monty Python is all about.
Out of all of those on the list I think his reasoning behind The Great Escape irritates me the most.
Thing is, there are plenty of movies that DO have bad endings that could have made for a pretty valid list. Take Jurassic Park, for instance. The thing just stops.
Blade Runner? Apocalypse Now? Fuck them.

I tried leaving a negative comment on the article but it didn't post it.
So this is more like a list of "20 great movies that didn't follow convention and ended on a note that hadn't been seen before, so we hate them and call them the worst", right?

Exactly. I'm amazed No Country For Old Men didn't show up on the list, since it didn't end with Bell and Chigurh engaging in an Equilibrium-style gun-fu showdown in the desert.
He sums up the ending of The Great Escape by saying "everyone is killed or captured." He must have missed it when Charles Bronsan, James Coburn and John Leyton got away.
Is there really any chance this list is sincere?

Exactly what I was thinking. (that I'm surprised it wasn't on this shitty list. Not that I thought it should have ended with a gunfight).
Enough people bitched about NCFOM in the comments for it to take honorable mention, I think.
I hated the ending of the Darjeeling Limited. Did anyone feel as unresolved as I did?
I'm not going to add to his traffic but it really CAN'T be sincere, not from the names being dropped. Just ignore this quest for webhits.

Saving Private Ryan?

Are you kidding me?

You sir, are a failure.

I kept thinking that as I read this. I agree, he just picked some all time great type movies and said their endings sucked. Most lists like this are terrible, but this one crossed that line to being a joke.
Thade is not 2500 years old. It's obviously just another timeline Marky Mark lands in.

edit: Wait, I've read the rest. Apocalypse Now? Psycho? THERE WILL BE BLOOD wtf? (to Trautman) Fuck em!

With this one, I agreed. The bookends with old Ryan irked the hell out of me. When I watch the film on DVD, I always skip the first and last parts. It makes it a much better film. Spielberg, of late, really likes to hammer the point home (like that awful final scene in Munich). Why not just put up "MESSAGE" in big red letters at the end.
So, basically, these guys don't like films that try to be different. I'd hate to be them....
