Why does my body react this way to movies?

I've always wondered this:

Whenever I see a movie, no matter what, I get a serious headache and a slight to severe nausea. Doesnt matter if I love the movie, hated it, or anything in between. Even if I take a tylenol or something beforehand, it always happens. It never happens during the movie (aside from the holy-crap-I-have-to-pee feeling), but immediately afterward.

Does anyone else get this? Anyone know why? I figure it's a bit of motion sickness, loud noises, and my general penchant for the low-key.

Just figured I'd ask, as I left The Dark Knight about an hour ago and I'm this close to blowing chunks.

Get your eyes checked.

Sounds like a version of motion sickness. Its disgusting but they say chewing ginger helps.

Yeah, I have a friend who gets the same thing when he tries to play first-person shooters. It's a disconnect between being shown motion, and your body saying that you're sitting still. There are treatments for it.

Interestingly, I experience some of the same things (to a lesser extent) when I play FPSes or games in which you have a freeform camera and regularly have to go from a high-altitude view to ground level and back really quickly.

Two hours, slightly queasy, big-ass headache. gah.

The simplest answer may be your best bet. See an eye doctor.

These two. If it's not your eyesight, it does sound like motion sickness to me. I have a moderate problem with motion sickness. I can't read in the car (even directions are a little hard for me), I can't handle movies on UltraScreens (though regular movie theatre screens give me no trouble), and I absolutely cannot play first-person perspective video games. I remember that my sister had a first-person Sonic game when I was a teenager and I couldn't be in the same room when she had it on. It'd make me sicker than a dog every single time. Try non-drowsy Dramamine, or, yeah, candied ginger (to make it a little less disgusting than plain). Mint tea can also help with the nausea. But get your eyes checked first. I know my motion sickness gets worse when my contact/glasses prescription isn't correct.
