Superman And Batman Vs. Vampires And Werewolves

WTF. Seriously? If these solicits were for April I'd be skeptical.

From DC's Solicits provided by Newsarama:

A man is killed by a mysterious creature – his body drained of blood. A woman is savagely attacked by a ferocious beast – her jugular ripped out. Bat wings flutter across the moon and the howl of a wolf echoes through the streets, for the creatures of the night have risen from the grave, and humanity’s only salvation is the combined might of The Last Son of Krypton and The Dark Knight Detective. Blood will run red when Superman and Batman face off against vampires and werewolves for the fate of the entire DCU!

Zombies were already taken, so this is the next best thing I guess?

eta: Didn't they already do Batman vs. Dracula as an Elseworlds book?

They did, in fact IIRC there were three books with the end result of Batman getting a stake through the heart or some such.

Frankly, how is this anymore nonsense than when Batman or Superman fought aliens and the predator?

I remember one of my old Batman comics where he fought a vampire that was also a surgeon. He stabbed him in the heart with a stake, only to have the guy pull it right back out, as he had transplanted his heart out of his body. So as Batman fights and fights, getting his ass kicked, he realizes that the grandfather clock in the house keeps ticking louder and louder. So at one point, he takes some large wooden staff of some sort and throws it into the clock face, which was housing the guy's heart, so he finally dies. It was different, at least.

They teamed up in the 80's to fight vampires in the bayou. A John Byrne/Art Adams instant classic!

I might get this because I love Tom Mandrake.

I kind of get Batman being involved in this but Superman? You'd have to bend over backwards to create any kind of tension.

Well, Vampires and Werewolves would seem to have some magic and supernatural elements involved with them, and of course Superman is vulnerable to that.

I remember that one. Art Adams sure knows how to draw hot vampire babes.

Wasn't her name Skeeter or something? Tight white t-shirt, Daisy Dukes... yep, Art Adams is the man.

Yup. Skeeter later showed up in the Vertigo series Vamps.
