I was very excited to see the American Reunion movie. I saw American Pie just after college and remembered it was quite funny.
Jim, Michelle, Oz, Heather, Stifler reunite for their high school...
"Songs for Silverman" was a nice step back towards Ben Folds Five-era greatness, but it was a little long on semiserious ballads and short on hooks. I'm hoping his new one will hit that balance between the two that the first two BFF albums achieved.
I'm sure many of you know this, but he's really wonderful live, even solo. I've seen him calm/amuse a beer-soaked crowd of about 2,000 semi-interested festival goers using nothing other than a piano and his serious, serious balls. He had the place rapt and doing two-part harmonies by the end of his set.
This Tuesday! The first single, featuring Regina Spektor, is pretty great. Seems to me like a balance between the light sound of Rockin' the Suburbs and the more serious (and superior, dammit!) Songs for Silverman.
Anyone go to the BFF reunion show in Chapel Hill a few weeks ago? If so, I hate you.
Ben has been streaming the full album on his Myspace page for about a week now. It's pretty good. Not Reinhold or Whatever good, but definitely better than Silverman.
Anyone know if the BFF show is a one-off, or if they plan to keep going? Ben Folds is one of my top songwriters ever, but I've always loved the one or two songs Darren and Jesse would write on the first 3 albums (specifically Magic on Reinhold).

It was a promotional gig for State Farm Insurance so I doubt there's a full tour in the works.

It was a one-off. They were billing it as the farewell show that they never did. Both Robert and Darren are on to other things, so I don't think that an extended reunion will happen.
Rath mentioned this in the "what your listening to" thread but I figured I'd ask the question here- anyone know a good place to get the fake leaked Way to Normal album? I don't use any torrent programs or things like that so it'd have to be somewhere to just download the files.
I don't think this is a pirating-related request since it was a leak perpetrated by Folds himself but if it's too shady the mods can kill this post.
Ben had them available to download off his Myspace for a few weeks, but it looks like they're all gone. At this point, torrent sites are probably your only option.
I picked this up yesterday, it's good but I still prefer Songs, Hiroshima is a great Benny the Jet's style opener, Cologne and Effington are the standouts, Before Cologne is a beautiful intro.
Folds also has this album he produced coming out Tuesday, the best college acapella groups in the country recording his songs: http://www.benfolds.com/acappella
