Did Christian Bale have to slap a bitch?

"Batman star in holy dust-up?" What a lame headliner, honestly, is "Holy Domestic Disturbance, Batman!" so hard?

Anyhoo, if this is the least bit true, Bale's timing is impeccable. You can take the Welshman out of Wales, but you can't take the Wales out of the Welshman.

The Sun?

Thank god they brought up, in an article about Christian Bale having an assault charge leveled against him, that Heath Ledger died (sarcasm). In fact, Heath Ledger's death should, ideally, be brought up in every article in the news. For example, one of today's CNN headline is "Zimbabwe rivals sign deal on talks". What it really should say is "Zimbabwe rivals sign deal on talks, and Heath Ledger's dead." Apparently, that's the only way to publish any news article for the next month or so.

"ATROCITIES IN DARFUR!"

"If only Heath Ledger were with us now...."
A source said: “It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth.

"A Source said" is often tabloid code for "we think", and that source couldn't even admit to anything solid! Also, "wrecked" is a rather sensationalist word for a sombre source.

Oh, and re the Heath mention, many online journalists are now being encouraged to use vaguley relevant buzzwords that appear on popular searches such as "heath", "ledger" and "dead". It generates traffic to the story.

It's The motherfucking Sun. Seriously people, as far as grains of salt go, this is one giant motherfucker that deserves a hefty pinch.

It's not even that! It's "we need to fill this article and make it seem like we spoke to someone in the know", nearly every article has "a source" or "an insider" and it's absolute rubbish, it's not the paper thinking anything, it's just recycling the words we've already read.

Though I do find it amusing that even Americans spit on UK tabloids.

(*Grabs chon by the lapels*) I don't.fucking.care. And I get it, it's not like I don't - everyone said that the re-worshipping at the tombstone of Heath would kick into high gear once The Dark Knight was released, and they were sure enough right. But if I have to listen to the whole Heath Re-Grief-Fest all over again for the rest of the fucking summer, I'm gonna have to slap a bitch.

This just in from USA Today's front page:

Tropical Storm Dolly has South Texas in its sights. Residents say it's the most upsetting thing to happen to them since Heath Ledger's tragic death from an overdose in January.
(I kid, I kid... just mocking my own tantrum, folks.)

Back on topic - yeah, it's The Sun. I'm not too concerned that Bale actually did anything unless it's on something like CNN. Let a legitmate news source report it, and then we'll talk.

It's in the mainstream now (front page of Drudge as well). Bale has also officially been arrested.

Honestly? Drudge is just as bad as The Sun.
BBC? They're still cool, right?
Even if christian Bale did attack his mother, I don't care. He is the world's greatest movie star and the star of my favorite 10/10 Batman movie. He can do no wrong Equilibrium was snubbed at the oscars.
Bale didn't do this. He's just taking the heat for Aaron Eckhart.

Massive Green Box.
There are too many unanswered questions at this point for us to judge the situation, like whether he used his growly voice when assaulting them.
Also, first "fudgepacker" and now "Bitch", Great job Harley keeping them coming!
What's next?
Mom and sister's question about what it was like working with Heath Ledger would not be answered with words.

I'm waiting for the next headline: "Christian bailed!"

You're welcome, Drudge. That one was for free.

If he growled "SWEAR TO ME!" as he hit them, instant pardon.
I'm sure all of his will turn out to be nothing, and Bale will be exonerated.

ETA: Anyone having a bit of a lag when posting? I tell ya, the site's been having minor glitches ever since Heath Ledger died (winks at Lisa, ducks from her furious wrath).

Even better if he blasted Hip to Be Square.

Don't you understand, Tati? Domestic violence is funny, as long as you can manage a Chappelle callback when talking about it. It's known in some circles as the Rick James Defense.
Tati, MissZooey I like you a lot but don't you think you're maybe overreacting?
It was a stale reference to a Dave Chappelle sketch.
I'm more upset that she wrote "slap". It's "choke".
Stale and inaccurate. Burn the witch!

Overreacting? no.
Kinda Kidding? yes.

Actually, bud, if I hadn't just put up Matchstick's quote as my new sig just yesterday, this would be golden. I'd absolutely quote it. I'm so sick of hearing about it that this is pretty hilarious.

Edit: Screw it. No law that says I can't have two great quotes up as my sig line.

But to answer her question, no, he didn't have to slap her. He didn't have to save her either. So the allegations could have been far, far worse.

Man, Europe is fucked up. You get arrested for yelling at your mother and sister who are probably a couple of greedy, devious cunts.

The worst part is Christopher Nolan still had no idea how to shoot it.

Glad to see you elevating the tone of the conversation as usual, Mike.
Nice to see the British authorities giving him extra privileges just because he's a movie star.
Eh, Bale probably partied a bit too much the night before, had ahangover, and spazzed out a bit. I'm guessing since I haven't heard of him pulling anything like this before, it was just the result of a bad night. Dude's no Russel Crowe, y'know.

If, however, I'm mistaken and it turns out there's a history of Bale slugging women (unless they came at him with weapons or something) then he's a dolt and needs to get his act together. Shit, Batman doesn't even beat up Catwoman, so...

It's true, if he'd been legally allowed a gun he could have shut those bitches up properly.
Am I too late to say that maybe Bale has been using too many Joker products?

Or maybe he's been using... Brand X!

You know him, personally?

This is really disturbing, why does it matter what Batman does? You do know that Batman doesn't exist right? This guy is just an actor, you are aware of that right?

While we don't know what happened. Who knew Gary Oldman would be the sane one after all these years?

I don't think anyone would've guessed...
You do know that being held on assault means he acted in a threatening manner and/or shouted a bit. I think if he had actually hit them it would be classified as something else.
Uh, yeah, I know, Cap. I was merely comparing Bale to the character he plays, who to my knowledge never slugged a woman.

My post was giving Bale the benefit of the doubt. Crowe's had a history of picking fights, throwing phones, etc. This is the first I've ever heard of Bale acting up.

Again, if it does turn out that Bale has a history of being an asshole, then yes, he should be called out on it and take whatever punishment comes.

Tried to lighten the mood, failed. Regardless, YES, it's wrong to hit a woman.

That's in the headline of the Sun article.

Thanks for quoting my blanket dismissal of the UK press (which I still stand by), Bees. I can't stand those rags. They're among the yellowest journalism the free world has to offer.

Is this thing on? *feedback*
