My friend said I really needed to read this manga called Berserk. Rape, murder, gore, all that stuff. We go into a long flashback detailing the hero's childhood with a band of brigands. Remarkably, one of the bandits is a black man, the first I'd seen in a good hundred pages of comic. So of course I wonder how this guy's gonna get portrayed, given Japan's propensity for... unfortunate stereotyping. Sure enough, within twenty pages he's raping the main kid.
