Anyone catch this yet? It's been out on dvd a couple of weeks. Fun little flick.

I need to check this out.

I'm reminded of the educational filmstrip: THE GUIDE TO ZOMBIES.

"Everyday, dedicated zombies man our gas pumps, teach in our schools, perform our most dangerous Hollywood stunts..."

The question is really if it's risk-free enough for a blind buy? I'd like to check it out but I'm not sure if it's worth $20.

It sounds good and I was looking for it at the independent theaters by me (we got Diary of the Dead and Zombie Strippers but no American Zombie) but it never was shown.

This flew completely under my radar, but now I must have it.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention Alex.

I've been wanting to see this since I heard about it a year ago, now I got something to watch instead of Diary of the Dead.

As far as a blind buy, I'm not sure. Netflix it, definitely, but it's not for everyone, and far from a perfect movie.

Also a much better idea than Diary of the Dead, but then again there aren't many movies that aren't.

I wasn't disappointed with Diary of the Dead (thanks to the CHUD reviews I had low expectations) but now I'm afraid I have too high expectations after this having gotten all the positive praise that I'd be disappointed when I didn't just stumble on it unawares.

I'm not currently subscribing to Netflix but probably will again once the 360 stuff goes live. I guess this will just stay one of those movies I'll catch once I resubscribe.

The [REC] thread reminded me I had watched this recently based on the CHUD/CC recommendations...

Really enjoyed the characterizations in the interviews. I liked the idea of the potential-monsters still retaining their sad and uncool loserish behaviors. Really helps to downplay the threat.

I'm surprised (SPOILER)that the leads survived "Zombiepalooza" completely unscathed, especially considering it could have veered into horror-cliche territory. Certainly played against audience expectations.

EDIT: Do not expect a gore-fest, at all. Knowing that, you're expectations should be in check.

Just noticed this is on Watch Instantly on Netflix. I'm probably going to watch it sometime this week.
