you can get a good ideal of it strength by counting the seconds. I must have misted counted I thought it might have been a 6.
Whee! Love being in a tall buildings for these!

It was close. That was a high moderate - almost a strong. Felt pretty damn scary for a second there.
They all bitched when they said being on a low floor sucked. Well who is laughing now!

Damn, why do I have to be dressed so poorly when I have to crawl over to a bar.

Christ it's been a while since something like this has hit. Especially during the day.

And cell phone signal is out.
Any real damage or casualties?

Glad to see everyone is ok.

Road damage?

I've never been in a strong quake. I'm a noob when it comes to these things.
Phones are not acting awesome. At first, I felt like I was in a funhouse. Last earthquake I experienced in the daytime, I was hungover, so I didn't realize what it was for a couple of seconds.
No, traffic lights being out.
Did Moltisanti cut his balls shaving or not?

(stole it, Brendan)
No, the concern is traffic lights being out. That will fuck traffic up.
It was probably half over before I realized it wasn't just someone running down the hallway.
Great. I can't call anyone so I have to resort to using Chud. That scared the shit out of me, but I'm not an LA native.
Exactly. Although I didn't dive under my desk/table. I had to go yell at a co-worker to calm down.

Dammit and so close to lunch to.

Internet is real slow right now. So there is probable some breakage. It was only at best a 6 pointer, so I doubt anyone died, or the roads are out. It been many a year since I have felt good quake. Was starting to get worried about the big one. It has just been to quite in South Cal the last four or five years, too quite.
I always get worried when it's quite.
Yeah, those brits are wily sons of bitches.

And btw gentlemen I've yet to find an Escape from LA refrence. Let's get working on that people!

It lasted long enough for me to get up and walk to a clear corner. Learned that lesson in the woodier quake I think it was. Was sleeping when it started, thought just a little 6 pointer, then BAM BAM BAM, and shit started to fall. That was the last time in a quake I did not start to move to a safe spot, at the first signs.
You mean the '87 Whittier quake? Goddamn Eenin you've been around socal for sometime.
Cell signal back on.
Not me. But it's telling me I have voicemails.

Fuck you, Sprint.
Two bucks says some conservative jack off tries to tie this in with the Stevens indictment today. Or some religious asshole with Califronia's gay marriage.
We felt it all of the way down here in San Diego. Crazy.

Same here. Also fuck being on the 18th floor. The view is nice and all, but feeling your building hop around for a while and then just sway for a few minutes sucks balls. I've got a friend in Chino Hills who's trying to figure out what's happening with his family at the moment. Crazy.
Glad to see the SoCal Chewers seem to be okay. I'm still trying to reach all of my family out there. So far, my mom has only been able to text message me to let me know she's ok, but I need to check on my grandparents.
My building wobbled a bit in San Diego as well.

That was it I was sleeping in, woke up, rolled back over, to go to sleep, then BAM, BAM, BAM. The Bams started right about the time this last one stopped. Now that was scary. It was scarier then the North Ridge quake. I have been in some part of SOCA since 86, was born in whitter. Lived for a time in central cost Cally. California is one of the best places to live in the world why more out?
I here ya. I don't remember that one. I remember hearing about SF '89 and sleeping through '92 Landers but was awake for the Big Bear quake which was the same freakin day. And of course who couldn't forget '94 Northridge. I sure as shit can't.

Northridge was not that bad in the OC. the ones that have me worried are San Andreas Fault, and Newport-Inglewood Fault Zone San Andreas Fault has not moved to over 300 years in SoCa. I alway like how after Landers Big Bear Quakes that up it to a 9., but after a couple of years moved it back down to just an 8 pointer. Newport-Inglewood Fault may be even scarier. It only rated at a 7.5, but it didn't brake ground in 33, and not one known when the last time it did. It it brake grown it could cause land slides, and that mean tsunami, and some really big waves. Santa Barbra has that Spanish galleon that up 400 feet on a side of a mountain. So who known what size waves we could get here.

Everyone rejoice, James Woods' Career is alive and kicking! I have spoken with him, and he couldn't give any less of a fuck about the earthquake.
That was wacky. It's been like an hour and I'm still shaking.
That weren't no quake. Optimus Prime just heard about Shia and slammed his fist in frustration.

Glad to hear everyone's okay.

Nice to know that he and his huge cock are okay.
I'm on the 10th floor at The Rat and the Mickey paintings on the wall swayed like pendulums. It lasted just long enough for me to go, "Shit, this one is getting a little scary--" and then it was over.

Hope my giant bookshelf in my apartment that I drilled into the wall held.
That was fun! It felt like every wall in the room had its own hinge and was shaking for all it's worth. What a flimsy fucking building. And of course in less than ten minutes the calls from New England start haha.
I made sure to announce to all my co-people here at work that I hate them during the event.

What's stunning is that there are some California natives in the office who were jangled by it. Wussies. I've been on the Universal Studios backlot tour enough times to know that the quake we just felt wasn't shit.
Earthquakes are the quick and easy way to tell the native and non-native Californians apart.

Except for the wussies in Brad's office.
So is this the part where we all start making bullshit boasts about not being scared? Because those rank right below beating up Hasidic Jews and having sex with women (RIGHT IN THE VAGINA) on the Chud Believability Scale.
I was working at the mall. That is definitely not a place you want to be during a strong quake. You can feel all three floors of the place sway and bounce, it's like being on a really rocky boat ride. No fun.

But the security and maintenance guys actually had something to do for a couple hours. They were so excited.

I, for one, would like to say that, if I didn't have the good sense to live where there's no such thing as earthquakes higher than a 4.0, I would probably cry and refuse to leave whatever doorway I had taken shelter in. Now, who else is man enough to admit it?

p.s. - Glad no ill befell the lot of you.

p.p.s. - I'm fairly certain there's some sort of connection between the quake and misfit's headache, though I'm not sure what it is. Any theories?
Admittedly, I peed my pants. Just a little though.
Well, after the absolute terror that was the Northridge quake (being literally thrown out of my bed by the force, even though I tried to hold onto the mattress), I've just gotten used to the occasional window rattlers.

That being said, when the big one eventually hits, I'll be the first to dive screaming under my desk.
Yeah, this shit was pretty scary here in K-town. I live in an 8 story building and it shook like hell. Grabbed my dog and stood under an archway.
