NICK AND NORAH Get A Thoroughly Mediocre Trailer

I thought the article title meant that I was going to see a trailer for a "Thin Man" remake.

Is it wrong that vaguely interested me, enough at least to check whose directing/writing the thing*.

You're right though, Michael Cera just doesn't look he fits in any kind of band.

*Admittedly this is just due to the head trauma witnessed in the trailer and the hacknyed 'I found Jesus' line.

It reminds me of Adventures in Babysitting for some reason.

Which is a good thing!
Now you see I'm torn, because I really like Raising Victor Vargas and I like Michael Cera. Which means I have at least some hope for this being vaguely diverting.

The concept of Jay Baruchel as a bully made me laugh.
I wanted to see it until I saw that the music of Vampire Weekend would be featured. If ever a band has lost its goodwill in such a short period of time.

Eh, I'll still see it. Kat Dennings is kinda cute.

Michael Cera playing a sensitive dude? What a shock
post #9 of 31
Is Michael Cera still going to be Scott Pilgrim? I don't know if I'm convinced he can pull it off.
"I love you so much its retarded" made me laugh.
Ah, it looks cute.

They're gonna pimp the shit out of this as "the next Juno", though.
For those saying Michael Cera isn't convincing in a band... let's remember he's also playing Scott Pilgrim.

UH OH!!!
That's a thoroughly awesome trailer. Very nice.
Michael Cera is actually IN a band. Or was, as of a couple years ago. I forget the name, me and my friend had found it on myspace. Wasn't terrible, very early weezer-ish.

I'm with him. I'm surprised at how decent this looks.

I'm always up for more Kat Dennings. Except The House Bunny. That causes tumors.

Just saw the trailer for that last weekend. What in the blue hell happened to Anna Faris? She looks horrifying.

A-HA! Anna Faris! I knew she looked familiar (saw the trailer yesterday, too).

Re: the news; I'm hoping its a lazily cut trailer, too, since I figured the movie would be... I dunno, MORE than whatever is being transmitted in the trailer. Ah, it's probably the "fun" scenes being shown and the quiet ones that'll win people over being kept in the dark. Let's all hope!
Anna Faris was in that trailer? Who? Where?

I assume Kat Dennings is the dark-haired version of what used to be Hilary Duff? Cool to see that she's getting better work than Duff now. Bwa ha. I was once made to see an older Hilary Duff movie and Dennings was in it.

It's annoying how the marketing seems to be pushing for the Juno connection right down to the font of the trailer text.

They're talking about The House Bunny.
Oh, I guess I completely forgot what The House Bunny was. Thanks!

And about Anna Faris... ugh. Seriously, what happened to her lips? I hope that was just for the role...
It's a bad sign for a comedy when they can't find any jokes to put in their trailer.
Are you talking about the House Bunny trailer or Nick and Norah, because I though that whole cab joke was really funny, and Cera talking about how they share the same dentist got a chuckle out of me as well.

Every time I see this title I mix it up with ZACK & MIRI...

Me too.

We saw a trailer for this before Pineapple Express and my girl thought it was a trailer for Scott Pilgrim.

I wish it was.

I like in the trailer when Cera is like... you dumped me... on my Bday. Saw on the offiical site they have some widget, where you can make your own playlist/mixtape. Thought it was creative, given the title of the movie.

Link to create widget.

Exactly what I was going to post. Word for word.

Yea- saw him in the trailer too, he's pretty awesome. Looked on IMDB, but it doesn't have him listed in the credits... a little bizarre. He was good in Tropic Thunder as the straight man, so I'm sure he'll be a solid addition to the cast, but your right, funny to have someone that skinny be a bully, however he is technically bullying Michael Cera.

Going to see this Saturday. Hope it doesn't suck.....

I read this before watching and was disappointed when someone other than Cera delivered it.

I kinda liked the trailer, though, especially "We have the same dentist."

I think this looks charming enough to get me in the theater -- I like Cera and Dennings though -- but it's most definitely a mediocre trailer. But my pre-teen girl crowd at "House Bunny" ate this up like you wouldn't believe. I'd count on a very nice opening weekend.
