Lindsay Lohan Criticizes LAPD Chief For "Gay" Remark

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan said Friday that police have no business getting involved in her personal life, a day after the police chief explained that the paparazzi were no longer an issue _ in part because the 22-year-old actress had evidently "gone gay."

"Police chief shouldn't get involved in everyone else's business when it comes to their personal life. It's inappropriate," Lohan said in a video shot by paparazzi Friday and posted on TMZ.com. In the footage, Lohan and gal pal Samantha Ronson are trekking through the Los Angeles Airport on their way to catch a flight to Chicago.

The day before, Chief William Bratton said the paparazzi have become less of a problem thanks to Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lohan leading more moderate lifestyles.

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue," he told KNBC-TV.

Bratton was speaking about his refusal to participate in a meeting held by elected officials Thursday that was called to discuss new laws to curb problem paparazzi.

He called Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine's special session _ which was attended by the likes of John Mayer, Eric Roberts and Milo Ventimiglia _ "a complete waste of time."

Bratton later called a news conference outside police headquarters to clarify his position on the paparazzi. When asked about the Lohan remark _ which followed months of tabloid speculation that Lohan and Ronson, a DJ, are dating _ Bratton said his sister is gay and he is a proponent of gay rights.

He's completely right. Lohan did go gay. This is just an overreaction on the part of a West Hollywood city councilman who can't have any humor. Even though that's exactly what happened.

It's kind of an odd remark. It seems sort of condescending, but he's using it to refer to her life becoming more stable than it previously was.

I think he's not a bigot, but just tends to be blunt and (inadvertently) insensitive when he talks. Goodness knows I do it often enough.

Here's my thing: I don't get why people are so upset by this guy saying what we already know. This has been going around for MONTHS now in magazines and gossip sites, so it's not like this guy has outed her any more than Perez Hilton has. If it was UNTRUE, then she'd have a leg to stand on. If it was untrue, she'd have bitchslapped him with a slander suit. She hasn't. If anything, this makes her look even more stupid for trying to stay in the closet when everyone around her (her own PARENTS even!) is saying that she's in a lesbian relationship.

Well, I was more or less just saying how that's the usual defense. "I work with a black person! So I'm not racist!" "My grandfather liberated a Nazi Death Camp in WWII, so I love Jews!"

But maybe he meant "gay" as in "ghey". Meaning she's lame now, which is true.

Have you seen what Samantha Ronson looks like? Well, from what I can tell she's not beaten in like Amy Winehouse. I just don't know anyone who would find her insanely hot.

Am I the only one that thinks this quote makes it look like LA has the most awesome police chief on Earth? It's the "thank God" after saying Paris Hilton is out of town that does it for me.

Thank you. Like I said, the only reason she would have to be upset is if his statement was slanderous. All he did was address the big gay elephant in the room that she seems to think the rest of the world can't see.
