I got one a couple years back. It wasn't much fun. But I did avoid getting shot into the sun via a large cannon, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

Whatever happened to that Temos guy? Since that thread is surely out of release by now you can spoil it for me!

hahaha

It's all open mic night around here these days, that's all. You don't have to have anything to say, just a desperate need to be up on stage.

Spike, you need to work on your shit stirring abilities. But you're in luck, I'm giving private half-hour lessons 3 times a week! That includes both the Devin Method (attack and disappear), the Patrick Ripoll Method (pretend that you're trying to be understanding and open-minded, thus infuriating people you disagree with even more when they try (and fail) to help you "see the light"), the Miss Zooey Method (make overblown feminist statements, take advantage of the fact that your husband is the most respected Chewer on the boards and, when all else fails, disarm everything you say with sickeningly cute cat-related exchanges with LisaNY) and the Duke Fleed Method (be retarded).

Only 19.95 a week! Call now!
Believe me, as someone who has dealt with the Ripoll method. I can tell you it's effective in getting people into pissing conests and screaming matches.*

*Please note that Mr.Hocken has recieved compenstaion for his time for the above mentioned edorcement.

What? I couldn't find a water baloon!
Sorry, no fight here! I like Spike Marshall just fine and offer him the gift of friendship (pictured)!

I don't "hate cinema", just shitty movies. For example, BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT.

Discuss.

The Devin method! Excellent!

The Macca Theory of Film Awesomeness: If you can't ironically enjoy a film's flaws, there's nothing in that film to enjoy at all.

If you've ever celebrated anything in any film for anything other than its terribleness, I haven't seen that post. But you're entertaining in your consistency, and you took a beating in the Bond thread while sticking to your guns. That should count for something.
I think I discussed THE OFFENCE semi-seriously a few months back. Something about a paradigm shift. I felt like a real grownup!
I'm pretty sure his disgust over GONE FISHIN was sincere.

I was suddenly reminded of the Batman Forever vs. Batman and Robin thread/poll, and the PM contributions within.

Is that the one where Connery gets in trouble for murdering some child killer by just punching him once? Why would anyone be upset about him killing a child killer? I don't think Connery was in the wrong on that one.
I have long ago come to the realization that Paul McCartney will forever fervently hate any combination of the words Nolan and Batman. It no longer bothers me.
What if the child was Cameron Bright?
It's too bad McCartney responded.
I think we were in for a good 10-15 more pages of FIIIIIIIGHT!! posts without anyone actually 'fighting'.
Exactly, this could've been the new "Moltisanti" thread. But Paul wouldn't have it.

I'm more interested in Gruber. McCartney at times seems to have at least affection and an ethos.
That guy is over at B-Movie action. And he's a real guy, he in fact is doing a youtube b-movie action review show. It wasn't bad actually.
What Ed said. At first, I thought Gruber was a joke poster until I fell into the well of awesome that is the B-Action Movie Thread. Gruber likes what he likes and is not ashamed to wax poetic about it.
Greg offered up a good-natured response to Paul's effed up paradigm:

Of course, Paul, I do think you're confusing which movies you find the most entertaining with which ones are the most well-made. Those are hardly the same thing. I'm very entertained by Masters of the Universe, but I wouldn't call it a masterfully constructed piece of work.
Then again, in the same post, Greg said:

And judging by the excruciating torture sequence in (the novel) Casino Royale, Fleming clearly didn't see Bond as goofy fun. That was some nasty shit. I doubt we'll be seeing that in the movie.

See what I mean. Although I never did get the name, I never noticed Hans ever having an eye problem.

I've not ventured into the B-Movie thread in a long time, all I know is Gruber's idiosyncratic rampages of mediocrity though other threads.
Dammitall. Disappointing.
I thought Gruber was an old time poster who just drops shits in here to laugh about it over at the fake life in-joke boards.
I don't see why a bad taste in movies is so offensive. Some people love film, some people love certain kinds of film. So what? Why get worked up over the fact that they're not as concerned about the artform as you?

Not the case at all.
Yeah he's just some guy in his 20s. Like a bunch of us Gen Y bastards.
Gruber is a guy who got banned before and is still an unfunny retard.

I'm not offended. I love the Macca. He kept the Bond thread alive for like a year with his crazy taste, and he's an encyclopedia of goofy trivia.

My apologies for mixing up who Gruber is or isn't.

Gruber sent me a PM about Todd Haynes and I'm Not There a little less than a year ago. Apparently we saw it in the same theater or something, which is peculiar simply because I live in nowhere. The guy's not all bad.

At least I think that was Gruber.
Gruber and Werbal used to trade their naked pictures with Little Otik, I think. Creepy shit like that.

Hey, hey, simmer down, you. I'll have you know that I can't recall one conversation where Zooey and I discussed cats. We're strictly wildebeest type of gals.

THAT statement can be taken in several kinds of ways. Tim seems to be thinking likewise, in that brilliant & understated post. Kudos, Piney!

BTW, did you guys have wildebeests at the Great Adventure Safari? Got any stories?
I think we did back in the day, Ig. Sadly, no wildebeest stories (a devastating disappointment to Lisa and Zooey, I know). I think I mentioned the ostrich story at the NJ Chewer get together, and I already told the "Night of the Killer Monkeys" story here. Closest I ever got to the Safari section was working Hospitality, the area where you get your tickets/passes to safari (ALWAYS TAKE THE BUS!!!!! NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR!!!!), and the one time I had to go deep into GA's territory (beyond the park and Safari - GA owns a TON of land in Jackson) when my lead and I had to pick up food for the animals (most of it manufactured by Purina).

I did hear a story about one of the Safari folks almost getting into a Siegfried and Roy situation, and a lot of animal poo stories, one involving a female lead getting completely covered during an outdoor training exercise.

Again, no wildebeest tales. But this should give our wildewomen some heavy breathing:

Feel free to lick your screens, ladies!

Kinda pissy. Ryan's a good guy, a gentle push in the right direction is all that is needed.

I will fondly remember you for "cf stands for caring friend". Makes me lolz just thinking about it.
The Ripoll method certainly explains what went on in the fast food thread. I seriously believed he was fucking around. Or is truly that incapable of making decisions.

Gruber, please don't be a dick with your signature. McCartney's original signature was irritating as fuck but at least it was original.
