Norm MacDonald killed me.

Agreed. I also loved his reactions from behind that newspaper every time one of the roasters said something about him. There's really not enough Norm McDonald on tv.
I typically hate these, but I'm TiVoing it. I had no idea Norm was one of the guests.
Didn't know Norm would be on this either. Such a nice surprise. I was in tears.

Greg Giraldo was also a high point.

"You have the sex appeal of a schoolbus fire."

Plus, whatever he said about George Michael and Rupert Everett's fist was grand. I'm not gonna sully it by trying to paraphrase it.
I forgot this was on last night. Anyone know when it reairs uncut again?
Norm was great but that was all I got to see sadly so i'd be interested in the next uncut showing as well.
It took me a little bit to realize what Norm was doing. That was a bold move, intentionally telling bad jokes. What a great subtle way to roast Saget.
I don't know off hand but I'm sure if you go to the Comedy Central site they'll have an answer for ya. I bet it will play a lot this week, don't know about uncut though.
Norm was great, love the fact that he was so blatantly NOT dirty, going so far as to say "what the H?" at one point. Added to that, his reaction of "who in this room wouldn't want to watch Peter Fonda picking blueberries?" was aces.

I have to say also that I really liked Gilbert's take on the "a man walks in to a bar" joke, and his repeated cries that "Bob Saget definitely did not rape and kill a girl in 1997" had me crying.

It's the "he'd be cool with it, fuckers" that makes it art.
I can't believe they played it three times in a row and not one of them was uncensored. Of course Bob Saget had the least funniest material. Even Cloris Leachman had me chuckling more than that talentless fuck.

One thing it had going for it over the other roasts: Lisa Lampinelli wasn't there.

I watched this and laughed my ass off. I had to watch as soon as I heard about it... Bob Saget rules.

"Apparently, they want to murder you in a well." Gold.
"That isn't your only resemblance to Rin Tin Tin."

Man alive is he great.
I loved Brian Posehn saying he didn't really know Bob Saget and that he was only there because Lisa Lampenilli finally got murdered by one of her black boyfriends.

I loved it when looked out into the crowd and said "How can you not get that?"
A big pile of bland, but Norm's set was a classic piece of comedy. That was just clever and so great. Only he could have sold that. "There isn't a person in this room that wouldn't want to see Henry Fonda picking blueberries." It reminds me of Live in New York where they said he did all of his jokes for himself, not the audience.
Watched this at a friends'. First one I've bothered with in years.

Greg killed. Only one even close to Norm's level.

Talk about a bringdown! Saget's bit at the end was just 'Holy shit!' unfunny.

I was looking forward to Jeff Garlin. Boy did that go nowhere. Expected more from Jim Norton too, at least he got decent shots in on Alonzo Boden.

Where did Nick DiPaolo go? He was always good on these in the past.
Did they trout out Andy Dick's drug addled ass?
No, he was probably too busy doing The Gong Show or coke off some dudes ass.
I always like the random cutaways to celebrities in the audience for whom you don't really understand their purpose for being there.

Scott Bakula sure seemed to be enjoying himself though.
Gotta admit, I was a fan of the Shatner roast, loved seeing Adrian Zmed in the audience getting the what for from Giraldo.

Garlin was a last minute replacement, so he really didn't have much time to prepare.
That makes sense. Didn't seem like much planning went into that character.

Alan Thicke was intriguing. I guess he was there to see his rivaling dad-on-sappy-family-sitcom get roasted.

And I guess I'm the only one who thought Cloris Leachman was hysterical. Although I won't be surprised if someone wrote the jokes for her. There's no doubt someone wrote for Stamos, since after every insulting joke he made, he cringed.

I thought Leachman was terrific. The material was funny, but it was her timing and gestures that elevated it to great. Though, the length of the kiss with Stamos started to make me uncomfortable.

The "new seven words you can't say on television" made me laugh.
"I wanted to see something funny, so I'm reading Marmaduke."

I love Norm.
"Apparently they want to murder you in a well, it says so on this card."

So awesome.

I liked it when they cut to a black guy laughing at Gilbert's "coloreds only" tit joke. That way I knew it was okay to laugh myself.
Gilbert and Cloris were the best. Gilbert could read the phonebook and I would be in stitches. But Cloris had the best line of the night- "Someone punch me in the face so I can see some stars!"
Leachman's joke about Mary Tyler Moore having an orgasm killed me. Then I realized I was laughing at a joke about Mary Tyler Moore and decided I should probably just go ahead and move into an active adult community in Florida.

Agreed. His set was awesome.
Giraldo = Amazing
Lovitz = Void of any soul or fun
Ross = Very Good
Lewis Black = Not Good
Susie Esmon = Lame
Brian Ugly Giant = Barely decent
Leachman = Very Good, some great ones
Norm = Pure Brilliance
Jeff Garlin = Bland.
Silverman = Bland.
Jim Norton = Very good
Rickles = forgettable
GIlbert Godfried = Surprisingly terrific
Saget himself = good.

The Shatner one remains the best.
I'll have to track this down. I'm a huge Norm fan. I caught him doing standup a few years back and he literally had no set. Just him going off the cuff, talking about anything people blurted out. He had so much fun that he ran 90 minutes over his set time, and the people with tickets for his late show all had to stand outside waiting for the rest of us to leave.
It's available on Amazon Unbox for $3.99 uncensored.
How can anyone not like Brian Posehn? That guy fucking cracks me up.

Giraldo - The Best of the Bunch
Lovitz - Tolerable
Ross - Great
Black - Not one of his best outings
Susie Essmon - Pathetic
Brian Posehn - Decent, his "Dirt joke about Cloris" was hysterical
Leachman - 3rd place just behind Gilbert
MacDonald - Honestly... I thought his bit was terrible even though he did it on purpose.
Garlin - 5 seconds of material followed by unfunny tripe
Silverman - Worse than Susie Essmon but then again Sarah's never been funny to begin with.
Norton - Good
Rickles - this was too short, what a shame
Godfried - one of the most underrated comedians of our time, had Greg not been there he would have been the best roaster in my book.
Sagat - took a verbal beating and then gave one to the roasters= awesome.

Giraldo and Leachman were the best two out there. It seemed off without Lisa Lampanelli.

I agree the Shatner is the best since they quit doing it with the Friars.

I loved Leachman, but I still think Norm took the cake. I've never seen him do stand up, however, so I'm not sure if that was just for Saget or if that's his usual thing. Does he even do stand up normally? After that I'd totally pay to see him live.
