Duke Nukem 3D on Xbox Live - Page 2

These two don't look anything alike:

Maybe it was Planet Strike.

or Blake Stone.

Funny, I asked George over at 3D Realms about the possibility of Shadow Warrior coming out for XBLA. He said it's a maybe. The game never sold that well (it was too similar to Duke Nukem, and shipped far too late) so it's a hard pitch business-wise, even though it's a great game.

As far as Rise of the Triad, I remember being blown away by duel wielding pistols right from the start. First game to do that, if I'm not mistaken.

Shadow Warrior ... why does that name sound so familiar?

Fuck you Alex for giving your opinion on and rating a game due to how it makes you feel.

You're so selfish sometimes.

It's already obvious that my class of haters doesn't compare to Devin's.

"I DON'T LIKE YOUR NUMBERS!!!?!11"

I don't know where he got that Final Fantasy info, either. I think Jon's to blame. I like 7.

To sum up my issues with Alex Riviello, I hate the guy. Because, as stated previously, he sucks.
Lol.

He wrote all that because he feels you should have given Duke a 7 instead of a 9.5? That's a lot of wasted effort right there.

It was. It also had the greatest multiplayer weapon of all time (drunk missiles) as well as powerups of god mode and dog mode.

"LUDICROUS GIBS!"

Man, we played the dick out of ROTT shareware back in the day. The flying eyeballs, drunken missiles, cultists, insane multi, god mode that made you an energy ball flinging deity, dog mode that made you a dog and asbestos armor. Damn. Why can't FPSes be silly and fun like that anymore? It's all serious shit now.

I have been playing Duke Nuked 3d on my new computer (Using JDuke, a program that has a Windows Interface that allows you to run it on a modern computer and does a modest upgrade to the graphics (think the GL version of the Original Quake) and it is as much pure fun as ever. I had forgotten how much freaking fun the Shrink Gun was. Nothing better then Shrinking down your foes and then squishing them with Duke's Might Foot.....

BTW you have to have a original CD of the game to use JDuke. Luckily they are pretty cheap and easy to find on the Internet.
There is also a JShadown Warrior program.

Almost all the games using the original Doom engine have programs that let you play them on a Modern Computer. I just installed Heretic.

I agree. That was one of the flaws,IMHO, with Doom 3. Although it was more serious then Duke Nukem, The Original Doom still did not take itself all that seriously.
Doom 3 did, to it detriment. And as a serious FPS, Doom 3 could not compete with Half Life 2.
Though Half Life 2 did have some occasional moments of delibertate silliness, as a sort of comic relief.

Remember the baseball bat? Smacking missiles back at the guy who shot at you, and one of the levels you dropped into an actual baseball diamond. Also, there was one powerup besides god and dog. Shrooms mode. You'd hit that in multiplayer and you'd hallucinate, see opposing players who weren't there and floating platforms that didn't exist.
