You guys are going to love that trailer.
Looks like you and I have some killing to do, Alex.

Love the Quato joke.
That looks sweet. Time to dust off the Wii!
You're right, I did love that trailer.

They've come for brains.. You'll give them, bullets.

Damn Wii exclusives!

Any of you guys ever played The Typing of the Dead? Fuck a Mavis Beacon, that game's the best way to get kids learning how to type. It's up on Gamefly, too.

But yeah, I like the idea of making this game campier. Wonder if it's going to have any of the humor from the trailer, though.

Sega's looking at Dead Rising's success and zombie over-exposure and playing this one right (but wait, didn't Grindhouse tank?) I love this trailer, and I am always glad to see more core games coming to Wii.
First day purchase. I played the balls off of House of the Dead 2 on Dreamcast.

The wii is garbage. How sad is it that gamer's get excited about a new HOTD game on this system? Its a return to gaming. Hooray.
The lack of games being currently released, for people who like video games, is astounding.

Next up: A new Army men game being released on the Wii! Gamerz rejoice! Lets dust off the white shitbrick and ce-le-brate!

It's a refreshing way to go. Games like this suffer when they take themselves too seriously. The severed arm in the cotton candy machine seems to hint at some sense of humor in the game. And while it would be fantastic if they went all-out with the Grindhouse rip-off (even to the extent of having "missing levels" and trailers for fake games), I think that's more the work of the marketing department than the developers. Even so, I'm always up for a good rail shooter. They definitely got my attention.

Looks like a good excuse to pick up a Wii!

That's my fear as well.

I'm still wondering why they haven't ported over House of the Dead 4 to the Wii yet. If they're smart they'll include it.... the one time I played it in arcades was a ton of fun.

Especially when that Asian girl kept wanting to play and we kept "accidentally" continuing.

We were unfamiliar with the controls! Why do you think we kept shaking the gun to reload?
I was just trying to do my Michael J. Fox in a survival horror game impression.
It sounds like the look of the trailer might not be just marketing trickery. From the Kotaku hands-on impressions:

Quote:
The team at Headstrong is going for that grindhouse look with Overkill. That aesthetic isn't limited to the cheap film treatment -- overexposed lighting, green-washed blacks, speckles, dust and scratches -- it's also getting some "really good intentionally bad dialogue", according to Crooks. Suffer like G did?
But this series always had the worst dialogue and acting this side of RE.

I also played the shit of of HOTD 2 on Dreamcast, but I don't own a Wii and don't see this justifying buying one so it looks like I'll have to play Time Crisis 4 when I feel like some light gun action.

You didn't get this, did you Alex? If so, fuck you.

I didn't go to Germany! That is pretty awesome, though.

Glad to hear about that the tone from the trailer might be consistent, as well.

R-Rated House of the Dead for Wii

I like this surprisingly adult trailer for the new House of the Dead game for the Wii.

Not Safe For Work!

I don't own a Wii, and don't plan on buying one, but I thought this was a fun little trailer.

Sorry Jacob, merged the threads to keep it all together. Great trailer, though.

I'm playing this game this week! Can't wait, the more I've seen the more I've liked.
Damn, I missed that one big time. First I'd seen of it was Saturday. Thanks for the fix-up.
That trailer is great. I'm a little surprised the graphics look worse than the Dreamcast HotD2 but, hey, what are you gonna do? I hope the collector's edition with the big-ass gun shell is available in the states.

My impressions- http://chud.com/articles/articles/17...ONS/Page1.html

This will make a nice little companion to Umbrella Chronicles.
I want this game, but I can't see paying 50 bucks for it. Maybe after it's dropped in price a bit. Hell, I still haven't gotten Umbrella Chronicles.

Any word on how long it will take to play through? I realize they've added a lot for replay value, but just beginning to end is it as short as the other House of the Dead games?

The first level feels like a training level, couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes to beat it. So yeah, it's probably just as short as the other games... but apparently the next levels are a lot longer.
I was at the NY Comic Con today and got to play this and some of the other upcomig Sega games Alex has been informing us about lately. It was pretty cool and I think it would be fun to play it with my wife (we used to play part 2 on the Dreamcast an awful lot back in the day). It's not perfect and it isn't the prettiest game out there, but the B-movie presentation and film grain filters they used go a long way towards giving it some personality of its own. I'm looking forward to it.
Yeah, I picked this up yesterday. Hooked my Wii up for the first time in a year, and I actually had a blast. It's mindless fun, and the whole grindhouse feel to it is great.

The 1up review. Planet Terror the video game? You had me at Planet. Then when you said Terror I was just totally sold.
You'll do this in under 3 hours, but it's great fun with a friend. Especially if both of you are into Grindhouse.
I had so much fun with this game over the weekend. Aside from the excrutiating dialogue (really, they just don't understand the art of profanity), everything is a pitch-perfect rip-off of Planet Terror. Anyone with an itch for a rail shooter should be playing this.
This game is WAY more fun than it should be. Once you go through the story once the cinemas(and awful script) are a chore, but it's easy to skip them. You still get annoying dialogue in-game but it's easy to ignore. Main point... yeah, it's fucking fun. Easily the best rail/"light gun" shooter on Wii. RE: Umbrella Chronicles is rad, but for arcade fun and replayability, it lacks compared to this.

I'm very confused that I managed to get 100% accuracy on the hospital stage, AND shot a few brains, yet got a lower score than my other playthrough where I fucked up my combo 4 or 5 times(2 of these were probably on the boss) and hit ZERO of the brains. Ended up 20,000 short of my high score.

Couldn't agree less on this one. I finally played it last month in an arcade(!), and thought it was awful. Constant annoying cinemas absolutely ruin this type of game. I swear there was one every 30 seconds in my 10 minutes of play time.

I still don't understand why the first game wasn't included in the collection. On Wii and Xbox. It's kind of like the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection not having the first game. Just lameness.
Sooo.. I'd pretty much given up on my wii for being a game console made for grannies and non-gamers that like to waggle their remotes like retards. Didn't bother me that much because I didn't pay for the thing.

But today I played this game. Fucking hell its alot of fun. Me Thinks the dialogue and cut scenes are hilarious. Expected more from the animations but the games presentation and art design just about makes up for that.

Sega did good. Especially compared to their Ps3/360 output. Looks like I'm gonna have to give Madworld a spin as well.
