Red Alert 3 : Now with a cast better than most movies!

I've been playing the Beta since July, and it's much much better than Tiberium War. It's cartoony and fun. The Allies and Soviets are kinda similar to the other Red Alerts, but the Japanese are a mix of all the animes you can think of, as most of their units are transformers.

And this last one and the expansion had a good cast (Michael Ironside, 2 Battlestar babes, Sawyer and Lando Calrissian), but Red Alert 3 has one hell of a cast, who will most likely delivers some really shitty dialog while cashing the paycheck.

Gemma Atkinson
Tim Curry
Andrew Divoff

Kelly Hu (too bad she's not Yuriko, the Japanese psychic schoolgirl commando)
Jenny McCarthy (as Tanya)
Ivana Milicevic
Jonathan Pryce
J.K. Simmons

Autumn Reeser
Peter Stormare
George Takei
Randy Couture
Gina Carano (as Natasha, the Russian commando)

Trailer!

Why isn't George Takei bolded?

He's in Heroes. Points deducted for that.

Good point.

Not diggin Jenny as Tanya.
The correct answer is:

Red Alert 3? Fuck yeah.
Oooooh yeah!

Bow before Takei, bitches!
I love that Divoff got bolded.
I'd like to reiterate.

Fuck yeah.

Yeah, a definite step down from Kari Wuhrer. Other than that, if it's anything like the last 2, it'll be fun.

Jeez, she was good looking wasn't she? The game was a blast and there were pretty girls to look at in between shoving a foot into communism's ass.
Perfect.

Jenny McCarthy, not Jenna jameson, jeez don't you watch porn?!

Oh and shout out to all the Jonathan Pryce fans.

Yes!
This is going to be great!
PC is going to have a good fall. Between Crysis Warhead, This, LEft for Dead, Casino Royale, Dead Space and a few more. I need a new rig

Whoops. Must've had porn on the brain.

Anyone else playing the old ones in anticipation? I never tried Generals, and am actually finding out that I dig it a lot. Strange.

Not really, Alex; I will probably get this one for the 360, so id like to be as pure as possible for the experience...here's hoping a RTS can be played with a controller.

Generals was pretty cool. I loved playing as the terror factions.

I tried playing the original Red Alert, but couldn't get it to work properly and the resolution was ass. It was gigantic in 640x480.

I never really liked Generals, but this thread (and Tim Curry) might get me to install and play Red Alert 2 just for that awesome menu music (Communist Metal!).
Speaking of strategy games, I just found a used, near mint copy of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (and its expansion) at a local flea market, and Im playing the hell out of it.

The thing about Generals is that it was pretty easy. It all amounted to build your special weapon. Nukes, Ion Cannon or whatever it was for each faction. And you could build several of those. Then it was just defending yourself until you could launch them and that was it.
Wait a second. Was that Randy Couture I just spotted? Shit, this game knows exactly what its strengths are.
Yes, that was. He's all into the acting now.

Yea, I've seen him do his thing, but popping up in RA3 along with the other excellent casting choices has made me very happy. Really creative stuff going on over at EA with this one.

Peter Stormare, Tim Curry and JK Simmons in the same game in which George Takei utters "All your base are belong to us"?
This is crazy awesome, i say....and count me in for the retarded state of mind power this game conveys.

Ahhh.. I think you played against people who like turtling too much, Tati. I've played a fuckload of Generals games online, mainly as a USA/Air Force player, the faction that was the least siege-happy of them all, and I would destroy any turtler who would try it. It's a fact of any balanced RTS out there. Aggressiveness pays off, and it should.

In Red Alert 3, turtling is possible (and there's 2 levels of superweapons...), but facing a skilled opponent will end up with you scrambling to maintain coverage of air, land and sea while protecting your superweapon, be it with any 3 factions.

And I love that video Alex.

By the way, if there's any Chewer that plays this game online, let me know. I'd love to compete (read: get mopped up).

That's all I needed to see to want to play this thing. Couture and Carano.

Randy even looks his he's wearing JCVD's outfit from Street Fighter.

"I'm going to keek Bison's ahss. Now who whant's to go home, and WHO WHANT'S TO GO WEETH ME!"

This time, I definitely think the Soviets have the hottest women.

It's possible. I beat the original C&C on the Playstation, but nowadays these games are much faster so having a mouse and keyboard makes it easier.

And yeah, PC games are making a bit of a comeback this year. Glad I just got a new computer, this game is probably going to be a lot of fun.
It may be somewhat awkward to admit this, but I'm looking forward to this game than Fallout 3.
The Russians do posses the hotter women in the game.
50 bucks well spent it seems like already.
This game is fun. The units are insanely cool. Psychic bears, Flea like robots, Spider Boats, and i just love the ejection system on the Bullfrogs.

This is pure arcade and campy as hell. The actors are having a blast.
Can't wait to get more into it. I've only played a couple of missions.

Just wait till you play Japan, Tati. Things gets crazier.

The multiplayer is great so far. Good controlled economy, great micro. And the single player missions are cool, even more so that you can do the missions with a friend. Neat stuff.

Anyone know if the control scheme for the Xbox 360 is any good?

ETA: The Hoff shilling Red Alert 3!

Holy Hoff!

And no RTS should be played on a console. Ever. Still, anyone playing the multiplayer PC version?
Well, my Macbook Air surely won't run the game, so I'll have to settle for the Xbox 360 version.
Just went through the first two levels...pretty good so far. It's been a while since I've played an RTS and my skills have deteriorated a lot since Starcraft, and I think it's going to take a while to get them back. Have to re-learn the shortcuts.

Edit: Russian chick is hot.

Which one? They're all hot.

Expansion pack comes out soon. New cast includes:

Malcolm McDowell
Ric Flair
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe
Holly Valance (who?)
Jamie Chung (again... who?)

and some of the others from Red Alert 3 are returning. New vehicles, new missions and campaigns including some brand new campaign called "C&C dungeon-crawler campaign", whatever that is.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this one.
Holly Valance used to be on Neighbours.

Australia's export of choice.
Holly Valance in a Red Alert?? This game continues to blow my mind in the best ways possible.

And Brendan, this is why you should know Holly (plus she gets music video naked by the 2:30ish mark). And she was one of the main girls in DOA.

I can only assume that the Americans will be out-hotting the Russians after this.
