I think it is a good idea to expand the role of human chucky and the doll re-design probably needs to happen. When I grew up watching child's play, they had that creepy "My Buddy" doll with that song and commercial about "My Buddy and meeeee." I was terrified of that my buddy doll. I would never want to own that thing.

I had a "My Buddy" doll as a boy and when I saw Child's Play it inspired me to kick the living shit out of the thing everyday, and I wasn't even particularly frightened by the film, I just liked it and play-acted out on the doll. When I look back on it I'm kind of surprised that I didn't turn out to be a full blown sociopath (at least I never tried to fuck the thing, so there's that).
