Report: Jean Reno Has Heart Attack

Jean Reno Leon (aka "The Professional") star Jean Reno was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after suffering what has been reported as a "serious" heart attack.

The 60-year-old was on vacation on the Caribbean island of St. Barts with his wife Zofia Borucka when he fell ill. Reno was airlifted to Fort-au-France hospital on the island of Martinique and admitted into the hospital's intensive care unit, reports People.com.

Details on his condition are still unknown at this time.

The couple had been vacationing at the home of French singer Johnny Hallyday.

Earlier reports that French actor Jean Reno suffered a heart attack are false, and the actor is currently enjoying his Caribbean vacation, PEOPLE has learned.

The 60-year-old actor's publicist confirms that he went to the hospital, but for a less serious ailment.

"Reports that actor Jean Reno is in the hospital due to a heart attack are false. He is vacationing in the Caribbean and went to a local hospital as a precaution for some discomfort he was feeling due to heartburn and gastroenteritis. It was definitely was not a heart attack. He is fine and healthy and enjoying the rest of his vacation traveling in the Caribbean," his publicist, Christina Papadopoulos, tells PEOPLE.

She even joked, "I think he was just enjoying vacation and probably ate a little too much spicy Caribbean food!"

Reno, and his wife, Zofia, arrived in St. Bart's on Tuesday where they were house-guests of French rocker Johnny Hallyday and his wife, according to French news agency LCI. Hallyday and French President Nicolas Sarkozy were best men at Reno's wedding in July 2006.

Reno has starred in any number of major films including The Professional opposite Natalie Portman, The Da Vinci Code, Mission: Impossible, Pink Panther and as an unlikely romantic comic lead opposite Juliette Binoche and Christina Applegate.

Born in Casablanca of Spanish-exile parents, Reno came to France at 12. He is currently a resident of both Los Angles and Paris.
