The Set Up: Film Inspired by a Poem

I had never heard of this until today. Nice long piece on Joseph Moncure March and his poem which inspired the film The Set Up.

Thought I would share it. Maybe we need a thread that deals with stuff like this, longer articles on films from more critical areas. Just a thought.

Wasn't The Nightmare Before Christmas inspired by a poem Burton wrote at one time?

Reading the title of the thread, I thought this one was going to be a contest: Take a poem and make a movie out of it. I was going to pitch

"Beneath the spreading chestnut tree
The village smithy stands"

as a Bruce Willis "brought out of retirement to shoe the Anheuser Busch clydesdales one last time, and how his assistant tries to take over and get the contract for the job from him. With Timothy Olyphant as the assistant. And Sharon Stone as Willis' long-suffering girlfriend. And Isla Fisher as the freaky chick in the local tavern.
