I think he's a new incarnation of Cthluhu (not the same guy, just the same kind of crazy). He's a troll, but it's not some fleed-like gimmick where his posts are some kind of stupid joke..some people really are just That Fuckin' Stupid. Most of his diatribes just come across as fuzzy static noise to me, though.

I think he's real, but his schtick still disrupts threads.

Not the case. There's a lot of people going back and forth in that thread and they don't all qualify as trolls. This guy.....I'm not so sure about this guy. I'm not saying he's a troll, but his actions and his attitude are very trollish.

I'm not going to nominate NoDiggity for Chewer of the year or anything, but I think starting a thread about the guy because he argues with you smacks of "With me or Against me". Nominating him for Troll-dom, and thus trying to get him banned seems pretty dirty, given the fact that he's not disrupting multiple threads. I remember when hurling personal insults made you a troll, but I guess that ends when you're on payroll.

I don't think the guy's a troll, but he's certainly doing more than just arguing with Devin about religion to earn himself a little scrutiny. There's something vaguely suspicious about someone so quick to lean on Harry Potter fandom (though this does appear to be something of an obsession) and subtextual Zionist leanings in Borat in that kind of thread.

Look, if that's what it's about, I had no idea what "multiquote" did until an hour ago. Hardly anyone uses it. The subject got me riled up, that's all, so I posted a lot about it.

I put up multiple quotes at a time once in awhile myself, so that doesn't bother me as much (although at times the sheer number of them is a little odd). I've only seen him comment on one thread (which I started), and he didn't do anything disruptive there.

I also think some of our regulars have pretty troll-like tendencies at times. Funny how that is, sometimes, right?

A likely story! Where were you posting from 7:16 a.m. yesterday to 3:30 or so today? Tell us, Diva... how do you feel about Harry Potter fans? There's something very suspicious here.

I figured the Harry Potter references to be focusing on what Devin himself calls an unhealthy obsession, and trying to use it against him. As far as the Zionist, I interpreted the opposite. It looked to me that he was calling Devin an anti-semite, which he is. Devin obviously likes to pick on Christians because they're an easier target (and they react the way he wants them to), and I imagine he doesn't want to be associated with the word Antisemitism, but he has plainly said he is against Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and anyone else who believes in a higher power. He wishes them all to stop believing in their God so much that he has now authored multiple editorials attacking their religions and spiritual beliefs. He has claimed over and over to be smarter and more intellectually honest than every Jew, Christian, Muslim, or Hindu to ever live, and has on more than one occasion resorted to calling someone mentally weak, retarded or autistic if they claim to believe in a higher power. When someone like Cap defends his belief system (and it's usually defense, you rarely see anyone attack atheism on this board with the same venom reserved for theism), he insult everything about him he can think about.

I can't promise Nodiggity is not a troll. I'll reserve that judgment until after I see how he acts in other threads, about other topics. But I think the calling out thread is excessive, and just paints Devin to be more of a bully with a golden forked tongue.

I posted that I think he's a troll mostly because as I recall the Harry Potter criticisms and the bizarre religious comments were both posted in threads that Devin started which makes me question whether there's a trollish tendency there.

The choices seem kind of one-sided. Either he's a troll and you boot him, or he's just a fucktard. Not trying to champion him here, just saying.

Not even the Jews see the Jewish faith as the one true faith. Out of the Abrahamic religions, only Christianity and Islam make strong claims they're the exclusive path to God. Jews, in general, see themselves as a people "chosen" by the Deity and this special status and--the covenant that goes along with it--gives them a special role in the grand design but also confers special duties on them. According to the Talmud, the only things that God requires of Gentiles are the following:

1. To refrain from bloodshed and murder.
2. To establish laws, and courts of justice.
3. To refrain from idolatry.
4. To refrain from blasphemy.
5. To refrain from sexual immorality (traditionally, incest, sodomy between males, bestiality, and adultery).
6. To refrain from theft.
7. To refrain from eating a limb torn from a still living animal.

But--by all means--continue to talk down to tolerant, non-spiritual guys like Chris and theists of all stripes while you go ranting on and on about things you know little or nothing about. It really speaks to what a charitable and educated human being you are.
