Quordy makes me wish I had an iPhone.

I use the on-board AppStore. A breeze to navigate and everything downloads directly to your phone - no synching required. As for my apps:

AIM - decent but I rarely use it since I have IM Forwarding set up on real AIM
MySpace - Pretty damn slick interface-wise.
Facebook - Not a fan, should probably delete it
Phone Saber - Cool in a "show off my phone" capacity
Remote - LOVELY
eReader - Simple but I dig it.
BoxOffice - A little more intuituve than Fandango's WebApp
Aurora Feint - Fun little game with great graphics
Cube Runner - Another fun little game that gets pretty addictive
TapTap Revenge - Rhythm game that the kiddo likes
FiatLux - Simple little flashlight app
OmNomNom - the old Nokia Snake game. Not very much fun really.
Shazam - BRILLIANT
JirboBreak - nice graphics but kind of tedious
JirboJive - great "pick up and play" game
pearMe - Simple little memory match game with photos
VNC - self explanatory
Monlight Mahjong - slick little game that uses the touch screen rather well
Labyrinth - AWESOME
Scribble - kiddo loves it but it's kinda pointless
Pandora - fantastic
Carries Dots - super buggy. Not sure why I havent deleted it
BubbleWrap - so dumb but so fun
Riddle Racer - nice little puzzle game
Apache Lander - decent game - controls kinda suck
Brain Tuner - fun to play in really short bursts every so often
Break Classic - GREAT
Chimps Ahoy - spin on the Break game - pretty fun and well designed
DizzyBee - GREAT Graphics and awesome use of the acceleromter
3-Tuple - Takes some figuring out but is pretty fun
iChoose - No good
Woo Button - Exactly what it says. Dumb but kinda cute
Hangman - pretty fun for what it is
Spanish - great little language resource
Crossword - GREAT
CubicMan - Actually really really fun
Paper Football - fun for a it but gets really boring.
SpeedTest - network speed meter
TouchReflex - Reflex tester. Kinda cool.
TanZen - GREAT puzzle game
Motion X Dice - pointless but amazingly executed
CannonGame - my favorite game app by far
Tris - Tetris. Uses the touch screen really well
Subway Shuffle - REALLY fun puzzle game
Skippy - Great game
Koi Pond - AMAZING
Bubbles - kiddo loves it. Make bubbles and pop em.
Black Jack Run - another really fun quick play game
Hanoi - slick little puzzle game.

Yeah, I recommend using the onboard apps store only.

EVERY APP IN EXISTENCE
I'm shocked your iPhone hasn't exploded yet. With that many apps, I would accomplish nothing. Kudos to you.

My Apps:

Monkey Ball - Good, but crashes way too often;
Hold'em - Awesome time-waster;
Remote - Greatness;
Tap Tap - Always afraid I'm going to drop the phone;
Google - Works pretty well;
Facebook - Sucks;
Sports Tap - Very hit or miss;
MLB - Overpriced, but works great.

Just using Remote, Labyrinth LE, and Tris right now. I can't find phone saber any more.

Hmm how bout a CHUD app with I dunno, some quick access to stuff? Yeah I know you need a developer or some shit to make it, but imagine tilting the screen and a page slowly peels revealing another article.

That or a balancing game where you control a razor and try to shave (insert CHUD crew member here)'s beard.
its a paid app now, but Air Sharing is awesome.
Yeah got the air sharing app while it was free.
The phone saber app is now called Lightsaber unleashed, if that helps.
I downloaded the Official Obama '08 app and it's just stacked to the gills with everything you could need. Fuckin' comprehensive.
Seconding that. It's great.
My brother just out and out quit using his Ipod touch, so i've been playing around and adding to it a lot recently, and if you guys have jailbroken it, check out MobileCast. Unbelievable. Entirely free, remote podcast updater. You can even search for shows!
I just got tap tap, and well i'm going to hell now, the women love to play with it, and drain my batteries*

*hmm dirty.
RDM+

It enables me to connect to a computer remotely. Just got my iPhone and I have no idea how to use it so, more apps to come..

Get Orb now!!!!

Stream divx and xvid movies to your iphone. If your computer has a TV jack, you can stream live TV too. You can access your stuff anywhere as long as the cpu that has your content is connected to the internet and has the Orb software running.

Wow I know I just sounded like a salesman, but it is damn handy, and the media player in it actually has the possibility (in a few upgrades) to be even better than iphone's ipod player.

Trace...very cool mix of Line Rider and a platformer

It doesn't much matter, since they don't have it for Mac yet, but what's the difference between the Free and $9.99 apps? The descriptions didn't make it clear.
Dunno, the paid version seems to have some more video support and more file listing, but I'm not noticing it.

Yeah Trace is amazing. ESPN Cameraman is really well done until you get through it all but there's no replayability.
Tap Tap Revenge has a new NIN version, with 13 tracks from Ghosts and The Slip. It cost $5 but the song choice is pretty decent, and it's actually set up more like an actual game than the other one. Ya know... if you're in to that sort of thing.

(For the moment, they are doing a contest for which you can submit scores over 150k [not difficult] to enter to win tickets and guitars and such).

Holy shit, download the updated Google app. Voice-based search queries. It actually works and it's fast too. Welcome to the future.

First thing I did was ask for "PORNOGRAPHY," Tracy Jordan style. (It worked).

OpenTable app. Exactly what the iPhone was built for.

Good, that's the one I just downloaded (I saw that it said it was a facebook app like you mentioned).

With this, I shall be unstoppable on Monday.

Later this month... SIM CITY!

First look at Kotaku.

It looks positively fantastic. EA appears to have pretty much ported Sim City 3000, IMHO, the best Sim City game, to the iPhone. I can't fucking wait. It could cost $100 and I'd still buy it.
Not an outright application, but a xpenser.com has launched an iPhone interface that's pretty nifty. Basically a checkbook balancing software that lets you update by text, calling in, email, twitter, or the iPhone interface. Good stuff for people like me that suck at balancing a checkbook.

Sim City for iPhone RELEASED!

I've started playing NES games on the iphone. While some are laggy, its damn cool.
How?
jailbreak your phone, install the nes app

then install openssh via your installer and cydia. Then FTP into your phone via its internet ip address and upload the roms.

Playing Scrabble on my iPod touch as I type this. So addicting.

For any Sirius XM subscribers, the uSirius StarPlayr application should be hitting the App. Store in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited. It's already in beta, and while I couldn't get a key into it, from what I've seen and heard it's a heavy-duty application with a ton of bells and whistles. I can't wait.

NY Times: The whole paper. On your phone. Every day.

Shakespeare: The complete works. I'm reading _Winter's Tale_ right now.

WeatherBug: a great, simple weather watcher.

Touch4: Thai bartenders play Connect 4 every day. So should you.

Facebook: Increasingly, it's how I communicate with my extended world.

FreeMemory: This utility should have come with the phone. Irreplaceable.

Flashlight: A handy tool.

FltPlan: Frequencies and general info for every airport in the US. Great if you need a divert and you need it now.

RK Free: Times and tracks your runs. Broke my heart - I'm slower than I thought.

Fring and Truphone: Two apps, same idea. I prefer Truphone.

QuickVoice: Turn your iPhone into a Dictaphone.

Easy Wi-Fi: Instant logon at your nearest Starbucks.
WiFinder: Maps local hotspots.
Wi-Fi Finder: Scans the area and shows unlocked networks.

Quickpedia: Wikipedia on your phone.
PhoneFlix: Manage your Netflix queue.

SnapTell: Snap a photo of the thing you want. This app gives you price comparisons and reviews.

AeroWeather: Instant TAFs and METARS from any airport in the system. A must-have app if you're a pilot.

I'm enjoying US Historical Documents. 2 bones, but you get everything. And they keep updating it, so I got the new President's Inaugural Address a few days back.

Thanks for that list Frank. Getting some of those now, though I did have Shakespeare.
Shazaam
Lightsaber
Tap Tap
Google
The Weather Channel
Flixster
Urbanspoon
Phone Flix
AIM
Sudoku
iBowl
Sep Checks

and I just downloaded Pandora (fucking amazing) and SnapTell.

Side question that doesn't deserve it's own thread: how many of you upgraded from the original iPhone to the 3g? Worth it? I'm still on Edge, which works fine, but that imp on my shoulder that whispers "you NEED the newest shit!" has been getting louder lately.
I've gotten hooked on Fieldrunners. So fun and GREAT graphics. JellyCar and Touch Physics are really fun. And I use NowPlaying for my movie resource - theaters, listings, posters, direct link to Rotten Tomatoes, direct link to Apple Trailers (not just to the home pages, but to each for the specific movie) and you can manage your Netflix DVD and Instant Queue - all in the same app.

I'm upgrading my phone sometime this summer I think. Wired had a rumor today that the new iPhone should be out this summer, with a better camera and video capabilities. I'm giving it until July or August, then I'm upgrading to 3G. I'm becoming increasingly reliant on my iPhone and its capabilities, and Edge just runs too slow since they cut Edge coverage and increased 3G a few months back.

As for apps, everyone has Slacker Radio right? It blows Pandora right out of the water.

Fieldrunners is great stuff! Second the love there.

Whoshere is an interesting app. You can see a list of people with iPhones using the app in your area, and meet people based on interests and such. You write up a little profile saying you're interesting in meeting people for a date, or going to a movie, or whatever, and then you can send/receive messages directly to them.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just installed Slacker as well and I'll use both for the next few weeks, see which one suits me better.

I prefer Slacker because it gives me so much control over the music. Pandora is OK when I don't have any particular music in mind, but Slacker let's me pick exactly who I want to listen to. I highly recommend setting up stations/playlists from Slacker.com though. Just easier to manage at your computer than on the iPhone.

Hey folks, what's the best free wiki app out there?
I use Wikipanion.

Cor.kz, which builds off the CellarTracker engine, has become my go-to wine resource. As a 2.0 application, it has thousands of user reviews and information about nearly any wine on the shelf.

With its CellarTracker functionality, I can take my iPhone down into my cellar and call up the details on all the bottles in my collection. Since I have the memory of a goldfish, this takes some of the guesswork out of picking a bottle at its peak age.

All this, and (unlike Wine Guide) it doesn't give some marketer the greenlight to spam you unmercifully. Winner.
