I've been wearing glasses for about five years now (and still hate the things), I guess. I've had my lenses updated many times since I got my first pair, but only got my second frames ever a couple of weeks ago and this has been my first experience with Lenscrafters. I got a pair of flexible titanium frames with anti-reflective coating and this whole ordeal cost me around $400 all total (after my insurance discount). Seems high to me even given the options I went with. But my curse has always been that I'm too picky for such an unwealthy guy. Like most things, I think this is a get-what-you-pay-for situation. I used Wal-Mart for my past two pairs of lenses and they sucked. Those lenses always ended up with bunches of little pits/indentions. Why? I don't know. But it was the same thing with two sets of lenses I got from them over the course of two years. As someone else here suggested, don't skimp around too much when it comes to your vision. Lenscrafters sure didn't feel like 'skimping' to me, but so far it's been worth it. It's not like you'd be lowering your sights (pun intended) going with them, Devin.
