Anyone doing anything great?

Tonight at Relapse Theater, my friend Millie is taking part in some sort of stand-up showcase. I've been promised DANZIG-related comedy, so I'm there. Well, now I don't know when it starts. Sounds like 10. (EDITED!)

...

I think I'm finally gonna hit up Drive-Invasion on Saturday, too. Tell me you don't want to watch Blazing Saddles under the stars with friends?

Scrap booking and or knitting.

Appearing at what is likely to be my final Dragon Con for three shows and three panels. Next year I want to go to the Drive Invasion and/or the Decatur Book Festival instead.

Oh yeah, DragonCon. I think I am going to go watch the parade for the first time this year, too.

Going to the Wisconsin Dells for 2 days, then going out on the lake for 2 days. I predict alcohol.

So you're going to get loaded and eat funnel cake?

You know, I need to host a BBQ for the Atlanta-area CHUD folks. If y'all don't mind an hour-or-so drive up 85, we ought to do a grilled-steaks-and-movies night up here in The Branch before summer's over. If anyone's interested, I'll start a new thread about it and make it concrete.

When do you think that would/could happen?

Oh, also, Patterson Hood is playing a free show in Decatur this Sunday evening around 7, if there are any DBTs fans that want to hear the man's solo material.

Dragon*Con. Anxiously awaiting the opportunity to see Hayden Pannitiere and her breasts. And George Takei. And his breasts.

Saw Erin Gray when I checked into the hotel--she's skinnier than my 16 year old niece. Still looks good, though. Also saw the hotel passes for Jake Lloyd and was tempted to try and claim them. "Uh, yeah, I'm the kid that played Anakin. Sure."

With enough advanced time, any weekend is possible.

I have guest room and two couches as well, so some folks could sleep over.

Only if I can bring some Iced Tea.

Surreal moment at Dragon*Con so far...sitting watching Dragon*Con Wrestling, and seeing Micki and Ami Dolenz walk in, sit in the front row, and enjoy the "event" for about an hour or so before finally leaving.

Also--my wife ended up meeting Nathan Fillion's brother at the bar in the Marriott and talked to him for like 20 minutes, surprisingly, only 2 minutes of which revolved around Nathan himself. Wife's Impression? "He looks like Nathan, only hotter." I also talked to him, and he was kind of funny. And kind of a goof, but aren't we all. She went to a track with Nathan and Alan Tudyk, but I didn't read the James Gunn article on CHUD.com in time for her to ask about it during the track.

Pretty sure I saw Hayden Cheerleader in the Mariott lobby this morning as we were milling around for a few minutes, waiting for the parade to start. She was cute, and had a bouncer looking dude with her. Does she have shorter hair now? If so, it was totally her.

The parade was fun. I took a lot of pics.

Drive-Invasion was pretty great, too, though we didn't stay all night long. I got to see an excellent Agent Orange show, and watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Blazing Saddles, and Kentucky Fried Movie up to the critical BIG JIM SLADE moment, then we took off (2:15 am or so). Good times all around.

Just saw Ed Olmos leaving the Hyatt around 4am. He gave me a nod as he passed by with some young chick on his arm.

I hope you yelled after him, "too bad she won't live! But then again, who does?"

Jewel Staite is ridiculously attractive in person.

Richard Jewell, less so.

I wish my holiday was as cool as what youse guys got going on. I already fell off of a curb at La Brea and Santa Monica and got laughed at by a homeless guy. What an asshole.

Now my right hand hurts and looks like Freddy Krueger's face.

Caught the free Patterson Hood show in Decatur last night, then ate some spaghetti and meatballs with friends.

I think I'm gonna be a lazy ass and play video games/watch movies all day today. Just found out that PORTAL is only $10 today, so I'm going to finally buy that sucker, since I'm the only dude in town who hasn't played it yet.

Did Dragon Con by day, Dad's Garage World Improv Tournament by night. Ended up spending all my time going to the Skeptic track stuff at Dragon Con, so I got to see talks by Phil "Bad Astronomer" Plait and the folks from the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe podcast. The shows went pretty well. I'm now going to sterilize everything that I brought to con.

Misfit/Will wants to know if Ami D still looks good?
Yep. Still hot. She's kind of got a Vargas-girl looking short haircut now, but still cute. Nice rack as well. The first day I saw her, she looked like she was dressed for the convention, not as a guest. She had on a low-cut shirt and a short miniskirt. I talked to her about the wrestling, and she said her and her father have the same agent as the female wrestlers that were there, so they had come to see them.

Also saw Edward James Olmos taking the elevator back to his room in the Marriott.

I fucked up by not going to this. Seriously.

Matchstick returned my copy of Pumpkinhead II and it was all sticky. Granted, it was sticky when I gave it to him, but that's beside the point.
