This was a terrific season. Loved every minute of it.

This is me. I like it, but it feels like filler. Great filler, but...

Same here. At this point, I think I like it better than the first season. Time will tell, I guess.

Finally On Demand, didnt wait the extra day for it to be in HD, had to see it, pissed i missed it and had to stay away from the boards so long.

Great finale. A lot slower then the previous episode, but warm.

Best line from this episode: "tits grande?"

As for this season, "as they say in Mexico, Buenos Noches."
Next season a one-eyed Craig Robinson should team up with Deep Roy and Hector to take revenge on Kenny Powers.

Or something.

Ashley Schaeffer!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

"Jpegs are good for jacking off."

Sudekis is a fine addition.

As despicable as these characters are, it's amazing how much I can still empathize with them.

They really do a good job with that. McBride gets some shit for being limited but he plays his one character so well, and part of that is that trace of humanity and vulnerability lurking under all the bluster and assholishness.

Good to have this show back. The night out in Myrtle Beach was really well done (Hill keeps improving as a director and David Gordon Green's influence is evident) and I'll echo Sudeikis being a good edition. He and McBride had a Ferrell and Reilly in Talladega Nights thing going.

Yeah, that locker room scene immediately and expertly cemented their relationship an rapport.

Is this really the first time a comedy mined awkwardness from a character's inability to make a racist remark? That whole "You're so black ..." scene was great.

I loved Sudeikis' seemingly improvised line when Shane & Kenny high-fived: "Always miss the bottom level."

The ending was bizarrely poignant. So glad this show's back.

I love how Kenny always seems to have a new faithful follower every season. The question now becomes: will Shane remain loyal to Kenny, or is betrayal in the cards? No matter what the case, can't wait to see Stevie interact with him.

Also: "What up Ben and Jerry's? Criss Angel?" followed by the cut to those kids had me in stitches.

Even though I was pretty sure that was where the ep was leading as soon as April showed up in Myrtle with the baby -- marking one of the handful of times I have been able to predict anything with this show -- by first showing Kenny totally debauching it up "in his element" made it quite all right. Banging high school chicks with his drinking buddy/catcher in a tacky beach resort town that loves him established the low-rent stakes quite well. Look at everything Kenny has to lose if he has to act like a father!

i need to know who writes kenny's monologues.

that person needs to write presidential speeches.

the line from his new new chapter 1 about Jesus coming off the cross and telling the romans "now its my turn cocksuckers!!!" had me on the floor.

"Got something for you. Friends DVD. Season Six. Criterions...Collections."

That may have been my favorite episode of the show's run. Surreal doesn't even begin to describe it.

"I'm all fulla Fanta tonight!"

ETA: Curious about others' reaction. I have a feeling it will be divisive.

When Will Ferrell showed up 2 years ago I didn't like those episodes that much...same goes here.

i love ferrell, but every episode he has been involved with has flown right off the tracks.

I loved everything leading up to his reveal at the Kia dealership...things just got fucking nuts after that, which I would usually love, but it just didnt work for me.

"Most fucked up part is I'm having his baby."

Worked for me. Big time.

I don't care that the episode is off the rails insane and completely disconnected from reality, I love it. Can imagine it'll be unpopular though.

I can't say I loved it. I appreciated what they were trying to do. In theory, it's funny that Ashley Shaefer's life is every bit as batshit crazy as you'd expect and then some. But what I like about the show is that, usually, Kenny is the most over the top person in the room and he draws the craziness out of the other characters. When Kenny seems normal by comparison, I'm thrown. It was just so cartoony, I couldn't roll with it. I think I may like this more on a subsequent viewing but right now I'm just waiting to see where they'll go from here.

Okay this latest episode just got stupid. I'm talking Feast III level stupid (I love the whole Feast trilogy, but I mean come on, it got beat you over the head stupid, Rubber stupid and I like that, but still). The whole last 1/4 of the episode was just terrible. I still love the show overall and I like that they may be going out on an absurd note (hopefully), because maybe they're out of ideas and they want it to end (they said its final but maybe they don't want any chance of it ever coming back)  or they just want to push the boundaries. That's cool. Did I still laugh here and there? Yes, but did these last 10 minutes with Will Ferrel fit with anything else we've seen from this show before? Honestly no.

I agree with Beldar though that with subsequent viewing and years down the road this will probably crack me up beyond all belief.

Now that Ashley has gone into full blown super villain territory, is it too much to hope that he'll recruit Aaron and Hector from Mexico to be part of his Legion of Doom? Perhaps form an alliance with Cutler as well?

Disconnected from reality? Fuck yeah, it was disconnected from reality. It was awesomely disconnected from reality.

Well put Beldar.  Ashley's character as some sort of batshit insane foil to Kenny's batshit insanity is an idea that works on paper, but never worked in execution.  I am sure these guys cracked each other up on set, which is really what I would have loved to watch.  The episode itself not too memorable.

Definitely some great one liners, and funny, but compared to the first two genius episodes this definitely felt like a stumble.

Still can't get over the line from the first episode...

Jesus: "It's my turn now cocksuckers!!!"

Count me as a "nuh uh", but it still provided some choice moments with Cutler and Jerry Minor.

Not memorable? Whatever your feelings on it, that's like the one thing you can't say about this episode.

I fucking loved it. Any show featuring a baby eating its own puke is aces in my book.

"I think his body is rejecting the Pepsi!"

The first half of the episode was great. I think if that sequence is a one-off exercise in over the top craziness, I'll probably like it a lot more on second viewing. If the rest of the season follows in this vein, I'll be disappointed.

I think I loved the episode particularly because it followed the premiere, which was possibly the ugliest and meanest and most charmless episode to date. This one was silly, hilarious, surreal, and had a great feel-good ending with McBride and Little seemingly improvising the last triumphant lines.

I liked that Kenny was taken back by how Stevie was treated instead of, say, chuckling to himself.

I loved it in all it's batshit dark southern weirdness. It was straight out of a Preacher comic.

I would love to see the show continue this trend and just get darker and more abusurd with each episode, leaving the casual viewers repulsed  and upset by the end of the show's run. I am thinking though, that things will return to normal now that they have escaped the confines of "Schaeffer Plantation".

I like how Schaeffer hugs his buddy like they just won the Super Bowl after that nut flick.

Another nice touch: the guy Ashley kills with the cannonball was merely his "most promising intern", not an actual employee.

"Sashay off my property, where I keep my KIAS!"

I liked it, but the second half came close to shaking me loose, not because it wasn't funny but because it felt like a different show. Then the final scene with Little and McBride cracking up in the truck bed won me right back. "I almost got raped!"

Well, it certainly got darker after last night's episode. I guess absurd that Shane OD'ed dancing to "Walk Like An Egyptian".

That last scene felt like David Lynch due to Shane channeling Phantom Bob while Bauhaus(wtf) played in the background.

McBride is doing amazing stuff in this.

I did not see that OD coming, at all. I was sure Shane was psyching himself up to formally offer to "catch" Kenny.

ETA: Best line of the season? The kid's room looks "like the place where Cabbage Patch Kids come to fuck!"

The only surprise about him ODing was that he didn't faceplant onto the glass table - that under the table angle (unintentionally, it turns out) telegraphed the shit out of his death to me.

The only thing surprising about Shane's death was that it took until the third season for somene on this show to die of a cocaine-induced heart attack.

Sudekis will be missed. I like what he brought to the show.
