I'm not interested in characters either. I'd be happy just to see some of the actors find a home in Charming now that the Shield is ending. Although a nod to the world of the Shield every now and then wouldn't bother me--like gang names, etc.

Another great episode. The show has really found it's groove.
"too soon for that joke" killed me.

And Karnes is amazingly creepy. I'm so glad this is doing well. I had my doubts at first, but now i'm sold.

They mentioned the Biz Lat Gang in the pilot episode.

As far as last weeks ep. goes I thought it showed really well how the SOA don't take kindly to rats. Kyle has to be one dumb bastard if he thought the boys were going to just forgive and forget what he did. He even has the gaul to show up at the carnival with a hot blond on his arm. And did i hear correctly when he said that he didn't get his tats removed because he couldn't go through with it?

Chronic Masterbator guy was great. He's eaten his last Chinese meal.

The Hot doc is going to play a critical role me thinks. She's going to give away something to Karnes about the SOA.

I'm digging it.

Nitpick: It was the 1-9ers.

Definitely my favorite new series.

He wasn't a rat, he left the Opie at a crime scene because he got scared when he heard the cops coming. It's the reason Opie went to jail. Yeah, he didn't remove the tat because he couldn't let the club go.

He said he knew that he was supposed to get the tattoo blacked out, but when he went to do it he couldn't go through with it. And if he had ratted on the club, he wouldn't have simply been kicked out, he would have been killed.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - FX has picked up its modestly rated motorcycle-club drama "Sons of Anarchy" for a second season.

Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman star in the violent family saga, which kicked off its inaugural 13-episode run on September 3.

While first-run episodes are performing modestly, the cable channel cited the series' cumulative viewership numbers in announcing the pickup. The series is averaging 5.4 million total viewers on a weekly five-telecast basis, off only 3% from its premiere.

"We've never had a drama hold up so consistently in its first five weeks on the air," FX president/GM John Landgraf said. "It hasn't buckled in the face of broadcast competition, and it's fantastic from a quality standpoint."
Dandy.

Awesome.

That's great news.
Hell yeah! I was gonna be pissed if fuckin' True Blood got a second season and this one didn't.
Glad to hear it. I guess this confirms the rumor I heard that this will be Nip/Tuck's Final Season.
Fantastic news. Now I'll be able to set aside an hour from the time that I'd be cradling my Shield DVDs and quietly rocking in the corner.

How can you not love a show that features Mark Boone Junior retrieving panties from a toilet with a knife, guns being smuggled in a sewage truck, skateboard-on-face assault, and the remote bombing of survivalists?

Major absence of Kim Coates this week, but Flannagan was back. Karnes' is playing a very damaged fella, it seems.
"My nipples are unbelievably hard right now."

Well, this show continues to kick ass in the hot women department, for sure. Karnes' character is really fucked up, he might go crazy if/when the girl hooks up with Jackson.

That skateboard bit was glorious.

Segal was pretty damn good tonight. It could've gone in a real 'showy, look at me' type of way, but she kept her scenes together pretty well.

Really can't wait for the confrontation of Karnes next week...

Sigh...the city of Houston is still doing repairs to the power lines so I lost power for a couple hours last night, starting minutes before Sons started. Woe is me.
So, did anyone else get the vibe the Doc aborted crazy Karnes's baby, with his line about 'seeing if it still hurts'? Perhaps explaining his fascination with the kid.

Pretty much just digging the show.

Holy shit, i was thinking the exact same thing! That may also explain why he's so obsessed with her and why she had to file a restraining order against him.

I thought when the feds were raiding the clubhouse things were looking grim for Sam Crow but it looks like they got out of it.
Oh, and wasn't that 'hot' fed chick the same actress from HBO's Tell Me You Love Me? Funny on that show she didn't have an ounce of sensuality or sexuality and in a few scenes in SOA she went off the charts.

Absolutely. He all but said it to her. I think it goes a smidge deeper than that (i.e. her reasons for doing so), but I'd bet money on that.

I'm very happy I started this show at ground zero. I haven't been into a one hour show in years. At least I picked a good one.
"Mother's little helpers"

Awesome.

And yes, I too think hot doc aborted crazy agent's baby.
I really need to get around and check this show out on Hulu. Still blows my mind that Lloyd from Undeclared plays the main character. And I'd agree the accent is really flat but that's the nature of the western US. There is no accent which in of itself makes it an accent. Thankfully he didn't he obvious southern twang which seems to be default American accent for Brits.
I just don't have a problem with his accent at all. When the show first started I was worried he plain wouldn't pass for a tough biker, but the way his character has been established works just fine for him.
Yeah, his accents fine on the show.

It's funny that he had a tougher time keeping a consistent British accent on Green Street Hooligans though.
Really? Maybe it was a regional thing or something. I mean the guy had to have a Manchester accent going on for Queer as Folk. Of course on the Undeclared commentary, they mentioned how even some brits don't think Hunnum is really British. Weird really.

I think some of you are confusing accent with vocal inflection, the way he chooses to speak. It's more about affectation to me, not an accent, and I think it's probably a character choice. Fits with the character that he doesn't walk and talk like the other members of the club.

BTW, great episode. Nearly lost it when Katey cracked that chick's face with the skateboard. Always nice to see Ally Walker turn up. Clay and Gemma yelling at each other across the police station was great, too.
Really, the show took off. Great episode and they are setting up stuff that could last long term.
I'm loving it.

And Karnes, oh my. As awesome as Dutch is, This character is really fucked up and great for him. It works so well.
Karnes' character in SOA is such a departure from Dutch that its very refreshing to see. When he was in the clubhouse looking at the pictures then went crazy smashing the place, clearly shows he's loosing it fast.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who thought Karnes was getting a little loose in the vaginal area.
Finally got around to seeing the pilot. Loved how they subbed MacArthur Park for Oakland. But I really enjoy seeing a show set up in Northern Cal which is a whole different dynamic.

Not to mention the idea of an Irish biker. Something straight out of a Garth Ennis comic and Pillegi(sp?) certainly plays racist white trash well.

Most certainly need to continue watching the episodes.
Coates is all kinds of fucked up.
Just watched the Carnival episode. Loved Biker on Carney violence (That was some mighty facial hair on the lead carney). Also I wonder if Karnes had to dye his hair for Sons of Anarchy or The Shield?
Gonna have to catch the late episode of this because of the debate. Two more hours...
Jax fucked Kohn up good.

I was watching Children of Men (I haven't seen it in a while) and I was surprised to see Charlie Hunnam was in it.

Good episode. Didn't watch the previews for the upcoming episode, but this can't be the last of Kohn, can it? Loved the fight between him and Jacks. Trashing Jacks' place and pissing in the floor, Jesus, a couple of screws loose there.

Half Sack is a tough motherfucker. Great bit when he saw his girl kiss Clay, and went apeshit in the bout.

It's not so much that, as it was the necrophilia.
You mean a cold pack?

Liked the whole fight being blown over by Floyd the Barber saying Kohn attacked Jacks.
I forgot about his affinity for necromancin'.
I'm really getting into this show and I was curious to see how Jax was going to get away with beating the shit out of Dutchboy but that was answered rather quickly. I know she's a great actor but Katey Segal continues to amaze me in this show, also I didn't know this until it was pointed out but that was her singing Son of A Preacher Man in that ending montage in episode two. She has a great voice.

And yes, Kim Coates is awesome! "It's a term of endearment."
I haven't finished reading the thread yet but I just wanted to chime in and say this has become on of my must see shows. Absolutely loved it. I didn't hear about it until it was too late so I casually passed on it for a few weeks. Caught up on all the episodes this weekend and I am hooked!

Recommending this bad boy to everyone I know, it's just all sorts of awesome.

Favorite part of last night was when Pearlman hugged sweetbutt and One-nut freaked in the ring. Pearlmans reaction was outstanding and then the "My bad, my bad" had my dying.
Coates is rocking this shit.
But really, the whole show has been great. All the players are firing on all cylinders. Karnes was fantastic. When he pissed on the floor, i lost it.
So is this the last we've seen of the stalker-boy Karnes? My guess is its not.
That was a helluva an episode. After The Shield ends, where am I gonna get my weekly dose of Karnes from?
I love that even when shit hits the fan there's an undercurrent of dark humor that runs through this show. That last scene was simutaneously hilarious and completely fucked up.

Loved the SAMCRO hat on the baby, too.

Also, Flanagan rules. Loved that whole little exchange between him and the IRA guy in the back of the ambulance.

"You know what you're doin', Scottsman?"

"I served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces for five years. As a medic. Til I was courtmartialed."
Tonights episode was fantastic man. That whole bedroom Karnes\Tara\ then Karnes\Tara\Jax then Jax\Tara ending was so warped and twisted it felt uncomfortable yet so compelling. I couldn't stop watching.

I don't know what I'm gonna do when this show goes on Hiatus. I'm jonesin for another episode now, let alone Wednesday.

On a plus note, Comcast just got FXHD so I got to see the show in HD. Out fucking standing.
Shit. Hulu cannot put this show up fast enough.
