Holy shit, Atlas on the soundtrack. I love this game.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, but damned if I know what it is.

But whatever. As long as a decent community springs up, I can't see this game ever leaving my collection.

Are you using the L1/L2 buttons? Those will move the pieces between the levels while the R1/R2 buttons elongate the actual pieces. Also, any one else having problems usting the Kratos promo code? It says it's wrong and I'm assuming it has something to do with the servers being down.

Also, I'm having more fun with the create a level than I did in the beta. Cannot wait to unleash the epic level I'm working on at the moment. It's the fucking goods.

Great game. Now if I can catch some of you bastards online.
I've been online for the last few days playing this. Still working on my epic revamp of my FAHEY level.

I'll be with you soon chaps, give us Europeans time to catch up.
And the game has been beaten. Some pretty fun levels mixed in there.
That was quick, Rob.

Or I've just spent WAY too much time fooling around with the level editor instead of making storymode progress..
It's annoying if you screw up an event, and then try again that section of the level won't reset. You have to start the whole level over.

I wanted to beat it so I could have a shitton of things to make my levels better. And now I do. The FAHEY 2.0 level has been started. IT's gonna be awhile, but I hope it's fun for others.

I'm looking forward to FAHEY 2.0.
So, are the servers still down...or do you have to play to a certain point before the world builder and online content becomes available? Right now I can only do story based missions.
You have to beat up to a certain point in story mode before it unlocks MyMoon and the level editor. Just so you understand the basics of the game beforehand.

This game's amazing.
No, the servers are still down.

This shit is getting embarrassing.
Supposedly a patch to version 1.03 is out and the servers are back up now.
Great game, but I need some help. I'm stuck on the Creation Tutorial where you have to add wheels, eyes, and a brain to the cardboard horse. I do all that but I can't figure out how to destroy the brain. What do I do?
Make sure the brain's settings is set to vulnerable and hope on top of the brain to destroy it.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
Yeah, I'm still excited to eventually pick this up. If I can find it for less than $40 I'll buy it.
So, have people started bitching about users creating previous levels and/or games based on existing properties?
Even if they do, it's not like any of those are actually good yet. Minus the God of War level.

Although I played a Ghostbusters level last night, and it wasn't good for the most part, but StayPuft was pretty awesome.

Er. The one I posted looks amazing?
But that's just a shoot em up right? Not based off anything? But hell yes, that was awesome. Saw that earlier today. Good stuff.
Which part of "recreating the entire first level from Gradius" did you miss?
I just wached the video, didn't read the article. Was never a Gradius fan. More about R-Type.

Missing the important issue here.

That level looks fucking amazing it's still not out in the UK yet.

The demon skull one, right? That was a breath of fresh air, very, very fun to play.
That's brilliant.

I did enjoy the Escape from Alcatraz level one of you gents made.
I like the game, but it's extremely frustrating in certain areas. Probably because there are too many concepts that are way beyond my videogame playing years. And the control scheme leaves a lot to be desired.

Quick question: I accidentally got myself onto the publishing planet screen and I can't get the fuck out of it, and have to reset my game. How do you get out of this screen?

One of the chewers made the Alcatraz level? That's surreal.

Also, it's fucking awesome. It's the most lovingly constructed platformer this generation and then some.

Mrs Bees?! and I give it two thumbs up. She's more hooked on it than PJM.
This game is delightful. That's a difficult thing for a grown man to say, but it's true. It's charming and family-friendly without being infantile, much like what I'd expect if Pixar made games instead of movies. And what a perfect compliment to Dead Space. After spending 10-12 hours stomping through body parts and gore, I'm appreciating LBP's bright presentation even more. It takes alot of weight off of some of the more frustrating aspects, because the controls can be a real bitch sometimes.

I seem to struggle occasionally between the 3 planes. It's not much, but when it happens it's a right pain.

Same here, and timing jumps sometimes.

This game is amazing. Best soundtrack of the year.

Funnily enough was playing it today. Friends came over, thought it looked insanely childish and ended up having a whale of a time with it.

I only play it with the missus because it's kinda "that game we play together" like PJM - so we were only allowed to play levels we'd only played before.

I'm whipped.

This title is rapidly becoming one of my favorites, but I need some help.

I have my PS3 hard-line connected with my router and I am able to get in to the PS Store and download whatever I want, but every time I try to update LBP, it gets to the download screen and hangs then tells me, "An error occurred during the download operation (80710723).

Anyone else having this issue?

It's to do with closed ports in your router. You need to look into setting up a static IP address for the computers and consoles on your home network.

It's a pain in the ass, but essentially your router is blocking important connections to the internet. It might be possible to download the update manually and slap it on a USB stick, but that's a pain every time you want to update.
You know, I don't have a static IP and I don't have any issues ever. And if you're trying to tell guys who don't know anything about networking to setup static IP's, they're only going to end up hosing their own network.

I'd suggest hitting the support forum or calling tech support and at least seeing what they say. They give you that bizarre error code for a reason (Google).

Whilst I didn't want to make the assumption eatatjoes knows absolutely zilch about networking - it's also varying routers and their firewalls that consider certain ports a danger, and some intelligently open them on demand. Yours may well be one of the lucky routers that works all the time.

He asked why he was having problems, I told him a way to fix it. If he's not happy setting it up himself, the quickest solution is to plug the modem directly into the PS3 and exclude the router entirely.

EDIT: The LBP servers could well be down?

Seems a Metal Gear Solid pack is being released next week. Looks pretty cool.

I did squeak a little bit when I read that earlier. The laser dot gadget, extra maps and skins all look amazing. I feel guilty that I was criticising them charging for DLC when I know i'll end up forking out for these. $6 in the US - so probably £6 UK. Expensive, but I do so want it.

From the Playstation Blog:

Quote:
So, here’s one of the coolest things about this pack…you guys know LBP is all about PLAY, CREATE & SHARE – well, you’ll be glad to know that this Level Pack holds true to that. For those who buy the Premium Level Pack, you get everything above (and hopefully a lot of fun in-between). If you don’t buy it, you’ll still be able to enjoy the MGS pack goodness. Here’s how:
  • Non-MGS Level Pack owners can PLAY the MGS Story Levels by joining a “host” who owns the pack and play the levels online together. Now you won’t be able to keep any objects, but you can have tons of fun just PLAYing.
  • MGS Level Pack owners will be able to CREATE levels with any of these items (including the Paintinator) and SHARE them online for everyone to play.
Of course I would prefer Free DLC, but at least they aren't splitting up the community with the DLC.
Problem solved.

In order to fix that particular issue, you have to go in to your network settings and disable the media server connection. Apparently, it causes some kind of interference with the direct game downloads from time to time.

Thanks again for the help, folks. I spent an hour this afternoon researching which ports needed to be forwarded, but no dice. Should've just called Sony straight off.

And I do know a little about netwerks and those crazy Kom-pu-tor contraptions all the kids are raving about...
I've always had a lot of log-out problems too, Joe. I've always chalked it up to the fact that my Linksys router is known not to play nice with the PS3. But I just checked and it showed that the media server functionality was enabled. I disabled it so hopefully I won't see so many issues now. Thanks for posting that info.

This game is great, btw.

I saw several used copies of this on sale at GameStop for $50. I mean it was great to sell to someone for $35 (when the GameStop trade in was $20), but still, $50 is a crazy value for this game (new or used).

I've been working my way through this game in bits and pieces and am really glad I picked it up. I don't think I'll download the new water stuff unless I hear great things about it though.
I was really really heavy into playing this when it first came out, and hadnt played it in months until I realized my girlfriend would probably love it. So, now we've been playing it a ton together lately. Very much fun with two people.
