A Lovecraft Festival

That teaser is horrendously boring. It's going to take a lot more than a spooky 1980's John Carpenter soundtrack riff to get me interested.

It could really use some Makeup test shots tossed in there.

I'll give anything Lovecraft a chance. Has potential to be a low-budget yet atmospheric adaptation, but I definitely see DS' POV. Can't be any worse than BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP. We'll see.

As far as teasers go, that one doesn't do anything to build interest in the movie.
I'm intrigued because it's Lovecraft, and I'm dying for another good Lovecraftian film, but until I see or hear something more about this one I won't get excited.

Thanks for letting us know its on its way though. I'll at least check for updates and see if it builds any buzz.

I concur with Deathsurge. That was like a teaser for the real teaser trailer. It's Lovecraft based though, so I'll pay attention when more info is released.

Even Stuart Gordon can't get Lovecraft right any more. I've given up hope.

Ugh. 40 seconds of production shingles and delusional chest thumping. "A new film from SOMEONE YOU NEVER HEARD OF..."

I'm still waiting to see if CTHULHU is any good. Some very limited release next week (Seattle, Portland, Atlanta... Denver 2 weeks later). Supposedly played in Hollywood couple weeks back.

They've got to be fucking kidding. How is THIS supposed to drum up interest in this film? Other than HPL's name being attached to it, which is no guarantee of quality, given some of the lackluster adaptations we've seen over the years, this trailer has nothing going for it. It also looks painfully low budget. Considering what a force HPL is in the horror genre, and the wealth of source material they've got to draw upon in his body of work, I can't see why more big budget adaptations don't get made. I get that he's more a household name to us horror geeks, but throw in some snatches of some good creature effects, and I'm sure a lot of the rest of the movigoing public will be drawn in. When will more major studios realize this?
