Ctrl+Alt+Del is uniquely terrible

I've been reading this strip for far too long, it's like a prolonged car crash I just can't take my eyes away from.

http://www.cad-comic.com/

I know that the strip is fairly popular around the net and the forums indicate that the strip has a somewhat rabid fanbase but I've never been able to understand the appeal.

Not only does it have a 'super awesome author surrogate' but it has a cast of periphery characters stolen from other sources and an amazing dearth in even attempts at humour. I mean the guys not funny, but for the last two/three months the guy has been making his comic into a bizarre drama sort of thing with miscarriages, failed relationships and economic upheaval. It's ludicrously overwrought and it's actually amusing to see the strip try and be serious.

I pray to god I'm not the only one whose soul has been tainted by this goddamn comic.

I read it more out of habit than out of any real enjoyment anymore. I wait for the occasional comic that has something to do with gaming.

By forums I mean the Ctrl Alt Del forums which generally are far more amusing than the script itself.

I loved the episode of Zero Punctuation that completely took the piss out of this.

Yeah it was great and it was interesting to see Yahtzee go from angry to vaguely spiteful.

It has devolved quite a bit in the few months I have been reading it. Now it is an early morning diversionary before I hit Questionable Content.

Also, I got banned from the forums for life over there for daring to criticize Heroes.

I still get the most consistent enjoyment out of PvP, although Scott Kurtz needs to either get Ding! on a regular schedule or stop promising he's going to every time it goes un-updated for weeks.

The few times I found CAD funny, lasted until I found out the good jokes were not his. The guy's like Dane Cook.

Except that you found him funny a few times. Right? Please tell me you never found Dane Cook funny. Please. Please?

Honestly, I used to.

The little 3-panel "Sillies" they're doing now aren't much better. They have the benefit of being smaller and therefore having less room for unfunny words.

CAD -its a comic I read by habit and not by choice.

Another awesomely bad comic is Applegeeks. The art is some of the best webcomic art on the net and yet the duo who make Applegeeks can't tell a story worth shit.

probably my newest favorite webcomics out now are Anders Loves Maria and menage a 3

I always thought CAD was like Penny Arcade...if Penny Arcade was terrible.
i don't mind this one. the weird crazy shit the one guy does is pretty funny

PvP is probably one of my favorites
followed by explosm.net
and The Order of the Stick is the best rpg related comic online. go read from the beginning

I've never really read CAD on a consistent basis, but Penny Arcade isn't all that(and I have it bookmarked). They hit probably one out of four times, but I do enjoy the art. I loathe the "Tycho" writings on the main page, yet I keep reading(I used to listen to Mancow on the drive to work as well. I'm a masochist).

I really enjoy PA, I follow it pretty closely. I used to read CAD and then I just sort of forgot one day and never went back. I've rechecked it once or twice and was just amazed at how melodramatic it had become and lame the "punchlines" could lame be lamed as fucking lame lame.

Slightly more video game oriented... but I want more "Concerned", personally.

Full Frontal Nerdity is a good one too.

I read C&H every day. The only guy who's not consistently funny is Kris, his tend to be more obscure and strange.

Im currently reading Starslip Crisis, Sam and Fuzzy, PVP, Penny Arcade and The adventures of Dr.McNinja regularly...all of them fare well in my opinion.
Ctrl-Alt-Del is soon going to go the way of the Dodo for me...ZP really nailed its coffin shut, and I doubt the comic will ever return to its "ocasionally funny" past status.
It still isnt the worst webcomic ive read, though...that honor is an alltime win by "Something Positive", a webcomic whose author i hope to maim one day.

PS: Questionable Content and Scary Go Round are another two webcomics Ive stopped reading and never looked back on them.

They stole a joke from Mitch Hedberg today...
Holy Shit, just completely straight-out. Jesus.
A shitty webcomic stealing from a shitty stand-up. Not a good combination.

Isn't this Buckley guy the one who flipped out on a kid for making some fanart as a class project?
Yeah...I posted about that in the Zero Punctuation thread. IT's what really turned me off of this douchebag.

And grave, really? Mitch is shitty? Come on man...

Mitch Hedburg was awesome. I can't believe they managed to take an EASY joke, and completely take all the air out of it. Yech. C&H, on the other hand, was pretty funny. http://www.explosm.net
