The Sarah Palin Troopergate Thread - Page 3

I would say that the tangible effect would be that Palin will no longer be able to trumpet herself as a reformer and fighter of corruption, but this is the woman whose been on the national stage for less than two months and uses "how well do we really know Obama??" as her primary line of attack.

So, let this be a lesson to those of you in high office with dreams of firing others for personal or political gain. It's not what you do but the way that you do it. Anyone can fire an employee who serves at their pleasure. But it takes a special cocktail of panache, spin, deceit, and denial to completely bungle the job, and still skate away unharmed.

I can't tell if this saga is ironic or not

1) Palin says she will cooperate in the bipartisan (though weighted Republican) legislative investigation into Troopergate

2) Palin is nominated for VP

3) Palin files an ethics complaint against herself with the governor appointed State Personnel Board (SPB)

4) Palin says she will not participate in legislative investigation

5) Alaska AG attempts to shield Palin's staff from legislative investigation

6) SPB can't let AG office run investigation because of conflict of interest so they appoint...

7) A special investigator (a Democrat)

8) The investigator widens the scope of the inquiry to include other ethics violations

8a) The legilative investigation finds she did abuse her power in the attempt to have Trooper Wooten fired but was within her rights to fire Chief Monegan.

9) The investigator files for the full investigative report (including portions that remain confidential) from the first investigation to use as a basis for his investigation.

Clearly Palin must fire herself if she will not resign.

This kinda belongs here kinda. A few organizations have requested access to three different batches of emails. Each organization was told that it would take until after the election in order to supply those emails and that each batch would cost $15 million dollars in processing fees.
