Have at it.
So am I to understand that post-7 PM EST its a free-for-all?

Pretty much.

Then again, every time slot is a free for all.

I know it may be weird, but fuck it. Let's end the day with a bang.
Well, rock and fucking roll!
So we're starting now? I post my first pick in the Round One Thread?
no, it should be monday 9am EST.

Your 9PM
Okay. Just checking.
Hey, I know this is a last minute request, but is there any chance I could be switched to a late shift? It's hard for me to post during the day. Otherwise, I'll need someone to post my picks for the entire draft.
I'll switch with you, Rath.
Cool, thanks -- I appreciate it.
Well, I was debating between Die Hard and The Killer. Took the one I loved most.

Coming out swinging.

I was just watching some of THE KILLER last night. Never a bad time to pop that one in.
Well it was guaranteed that DIE HARD would be quickly grabbed.
I can kinda see where you are coming from but in my eyes Die Hard is the best action movie there is. Period.

Hard Target's gone already. Brutal draft, I think.

Die Hard is pretty much perfect.
Heh, I thought Hard Target might last till Day 3.
I think you're right, this will be brutal and Rounds 4 and 5 should be interesting in terms of what's left.

If anyone touches my picks I KILL YOU!
Hard Target going third? You know, I haven't seen it, but it would have to be fucking BRILLIANT to be the second best Woo movie, or the best ever Jean Claude movie. I plan on rectifying this immediately, though I understand there's a mixup as far as director's cuts and such with that one.
I've been looking for the Director's cut for HARD TARGET for ages. I've seen a few scenes of it on Youtube last year, but its dissapeared now.
It's easily the best VanDamme film.
Hard Target going third is a real surprise.

This.
There are plenty of awesome picks around to warrant two or three flawless rounds. The meaty stuff is definitely in the last rounds.

I've done pretty well the last few years finding bootlegs and director's cuts and just flicks that aren't available in the U.S.- but I've never found that Hard Target director's cut. I'm sure I've elevated it to a mythical status that it can't live up to, but I really want to see it.
The classics are pretty obvious. Easy enough for Day 1. It's the next few days that'll be interesting. When we hit the more obscure flicks and debate onwhich films are "Action" films.
Two Woos in the first three picks! Too bad only one was the right choice.

Oh, and can't go wrong with Die Hard.
Hard Target is not Van Damme's best movie, especially with his new one, and it's substandard Woo. At least it has Lance Henriksen.

It's at best a 3rd rounder.

Kind of like the best herpes?

(I kid, I kid)

It's got Brimley. Certainly that counts for something. Van Damme does punch a snake, too.
Ahh Indy enters the frame.

Hang on this is my first draft, can the next group go as soon as the previous group is done? They don't have to wait for the allotted time period?

This was probably covered but I missed it sorry.
Indy? Not quite what I expected.

I knew that whippersnapper Jones would make an appearance this draft.
Bad Boys 2. Seems my love/hate relationship continues with Rudd. Love the pick, hate to see it go.

Raiders is an action movie, if there ever was one.

EDIT: Bad Boys II, so, so creepy. I just can't get behind that movie.
I don't like Indy here.
I had to pick Raiders. Regardless of genre, RotLA is one of my top 10 movies of all time.

I must agree with the choices for 'The Killer' and 'Die Hard'...'Hard Target' is kinda a head scratcher, though.
Indy falling to 4 is a shocker! (For shame Mr. VanDamme fan) Where's Dickson when you need him!

Bad Boys 2, huh?

(Everything's upside down & I kind of like it!)
Yeah. But its got fantasy elements in it. I am not saying it doesn't qualify. But I didn't think it would make an appearance that early.
Proud to have Bad Boys 2. Raiders is of course an action film. I might have taken it myself if it had lasted another pick. Or not, because, shit, Bad Boys fuckin' II.

Obviously your question has been answered, but yes, they can go as soon as the other group has gone.

T2 is a movie that I couldn't get enough of as a teenager, but I can't even bring myself to watch it anymore. Not going to argue its inclusion on an action draft or anything, but, well, I guess fuck Cameron for turning that world into a kid's movie.
I think Indy absolutely deserves to be drafted as one of the first here. I was eying it as well but ultimately Die Hard or The Killer are more of what constitutes a pure action movie.

Oh and neither Bad Boys 2 nor T2 are Bays or Camerons best action movies.
Even though I infinitely prefer 'The Terminator', I have no problem with T2 dropping first. 'Bad Boys 2' is both the BEST and the WORST action movie ever made.
I knew Die Hard wasn't going to last long. I debated between both Terminators to be honest. Then I thought of the car chase and it just reminded me how every time I see it makes me a little kid again.

Malarkey! I say!

Maybe, maybe not on Cameron. But if you like Michael Bay because of, and not in spite of, his intense Michael Bay-ness, it gets no better than BBII. For the scene where the bad guys throw frozen corpses onto the street alone.
Must we forget that they fucking INVADE CUBA?
So how does this work with the later rounds? Do we just go with the same times on a different day?

It's interesting, the reasons given for liking Bad Boys II are usually the reasons I give for not liking it.

I would totally overlook the inherent creepiness if just one of the action scenes was filmed and edited coherently.
For the record, I love Bad Boys 2 for being the most Bay-est action movie there is. And they invade Cuba for fucks sake.

But as a movie there is another one I simply prefer and think is the better and more even movie overall.
I'll grant Bay this: Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, creates pure wreckage like him.

Probably. I thought about snaking the draft, but I don't think that's going to work out for several people. I think we'll basically keep it like this.
Still love T2!

VanDamme & Martin Lawrence first? Before Arnold? Hell, Linda Hamilton'll kick both their asses!

Damn you, Michael Bay!

Thought Cameron was king of the world?
