As a dyed in the wool Aves fan I would love nothing more than to see my Pittsburgh hailing neighbor be happy tonight.

That being said it was nice of the NHL to give the Red Wings two days rest before they skate the Cup around.

Okay, I thought the Wings fans were booing the Pens, but they're actually being pretty classy.

It appears the vehement booing going in in the Joe was directed at Gary Bettman. Which is awesome.

I'm not much of a hockey fan, but the Stanley Cup is probably the coolest trophy ceremony in all of sports.

Well, now I know how everyone thought of Boston when they were winning everything. I guess I'm selfish in that I want only my homestate to win 3 out of 4. Bitter taste, but it was a hell of a game and a hell of a series.

Jesus, Pittsburgh. You guys couldn't give us in Philly a year to gloat about our world series?

You win the Superbowl and Stanley Cup in one year. Damn. This ruins my world series bragging trip to the Pirates stadium in August.

The trophy recipient is determined by the entire postseason by 11 top sports writers. And since Malkin's postseason stats are three points behind Gretzky, I'd say he deserves it.

The game, no the series was pretty awesome. I could not imagine a better way to win it than beating the team that beat you the year before. Add in Hossa's bad decision of epic proportions (less money and the losing team !) and it is a great championship ! Talbot will have a place in Pittsburgh for the rest of his life (TV, radio, or whatever) after this. Plus the Penguins are set up for a dynasty. The core players are all very young and signed. It is good to be a Pittsburgh hockey fan (since I was old enough to watch hockey, that is when Mike Bullard was the man).

I am immensely happy that the first HDTV experience in my household was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. My wife wasn't sold on the whole thing.. until last night.

Jesus, I'm not going to be able to watch sportscenter for at least a day.

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins on their Stanley Cup. They earned that trophy.
