André Téchiné

Currently half-way through the 4-film box set of his. I'v never have seen any of his movies but what I read about him told me his stuff was worth checking out.I could kick myself in the ass for not seeing any of his films until today!

I've only seen the first two movies - Hotel Des Ameriques (Hotel America) and J'embrasse pas (I Don't Kiss) - and I just wanted to say that after watching these two exceptional movies back to back I now have a director whose catalog I plan on exploring.

For those familiar with his work what are your thoughts about his style?

Somehow haven't heard of this guy... the IMDB synopses are pretty weak, to whom would you compare Téchiné's films, or can you?

I would never put him in the same league as Truffaut but its easy to see that he had a major influence on Téchiné.
