Wipeout

This show should have tanked. It's the American version of Takeshi's Castle.. which was redone by MXC.. and ABC used MXC's formula as a complete rip-off.

and yet I love watching people fall.

I watched it as a guilty pleasure, then because its a family show that my son can actually watch during prime time.. and now I watch it because I'm addicted.

If there was one reason NOT to watch Fringe on Fox, it was because of a 2-hour, 2 new episodes of Wipeout.

I also loved that an 18-year old punk rocker with a mo-hawk won 50 thousand dollars!

Wipeout is my new Tuesday night funtime.

I'm a big fan of Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke on G4, but I couldn't get into this because of the awful announcers, especially Skunkhair Guy from Talk Soup. I'm watching people slide on a gigantic treadmill into a pile of garbage; I don't need "wacky" commentary. Only American producers would look at a Japanese game show and say, "Let's spice this up!"

It's okay, but it's much better when muted.

My son and I started watching it religiously after the first episode. It's actually where he learned what the phrase "rip-off" meant, because I called it a rip-off of MXC (which we also watch together). I have to sometimes skim past the audio on MXC, which can sometimes elicit questions from my son that I don't want to answer, but Wipeout is free and clear. My son loved "J-Man" and crunch-time. He also would walk around the house saying, "Where's the pole?" over and over again.

Last night I was watching Wipout couples with the family.

I can't believe there was a full on Cooter shot. I'm surprised my son didn't ask what that blurred out thing was between the lady's legs.

God I hate this show. The unfunny announcers and arrogant contestants kill me. And I LOVE Takeshi's Castle.
