Started a thread on this without seeing this one, I apologize.

I'm in the same boat. I'm leaning more towards PS3 (BD Player, Free Online, MGS4) and Resistance 2 will be good. 60 players online!?

In a way, I'm inclined to agree, at least in terms of lasting value. The current library of games, LIVE, and a far superior controller(I know not everyone agrees) are pretty good selling points for the 360 though.

I have a feeling the PS3 will outlast the 360 by many years, and I'm not talking premature death due to hardware failure.

I'm not sure this is true when those strengths/weaknesses actually exist.

Things are far different than the SNES vs. Genesis days.

I have no doubts that, eventually, somebody's gonna crack that fucker so it can churn out titles that make that system absolutely sing on a regular basis with the relative ease that developers can on the 360, and they'll be Sony exclusive, they'll take full advantage of that system's every feature, and I'll be more than happy to throw down my wallet in surrender to that system once and for all.

The bottom line for me is, that moment sure as shit ain't right now.

All the games I want are on the system I've got. The PS3 has a Super DVD player I don't need. Why do I need the "superior" system right now?

The PS3 doesn't break. The 360 is a huge piece of shit, hardware-wise. It's just that the 360 has a much stronger library of games right now.

Probably worded that wrong, I meant that neither console really has an advantage over another. I'd rather take a console constantly on the verge of breakdown which HAS games over a console which runs Hideo Kojima's latest serpentine wank flawlessly.
