It's here! I jst got my 1st e-mail about the 08 Horrorfest, which is actually taking place in early '09. According to horrorfestonline.com, the Fest is slated to run January 2 - 9, 09. Which really means the films will be shown those 2 weekends, if past experience is any guide. As usual, there isn't a whole lot of info on the site as yet.

Five of the films have been selected, and some brief blurbs and trailers for those films are up as of this writing. A list of cities that will be hosting the fest is available, too, but a theatre by theatre listing is not yet available (as I recall, this was unfortunately one of the last items they put up last year). The fact that all the cities listed are "major" cities (New York, LA, San Fran, Philly, etc.), and there are none listed - as yet - in NJ kind of doesn't bode well. Much as I love this thing, I really don't know if truckin' it on out to The City for 3 nights in a row is feasible, so I hope this turns out to be a partial list.

All Access passes will apparently be available this year, but there's nothing up as yet as to what that will cost or what they'll get you besides access to the films.

The site looks slicker than it has in years past, but again it seems like they're woefully short on content and saving a lot of things that probably should have been thought out by now (prices for the all access passes, theatre listings and all 8 films, for instnce) for dangerously late release. As usual. I'll be keeping an eye on this for anyone who cares. I've been a huge fan of the concept in years past, and hope this year, as always, that they can pull it off. But if it doesn't come to any theatres in NJ, I may not go this year, and they'll lose one of their staunchest supporters. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.
