To her detriment. She's way overexposed on the show, esp. since none of her recurring characters are funny.

Lots of Wiig so far.

BTW

It's nice to see Tom Hanks show up for Celebrity Jeopardy. Makes me really hope that he'll agree to be in a straight up comedy sometime soon.

Edit: Holy shit!!! Norm McDonald as Burt Reynolds! This is awesome.

Crappy Kathie Lee Gifford parody aside, I was reminded how Celebrity Jeopardy was one of the best things that's ever happened. Imbecile Tom Hanks was beautiful.

I like the Gifford parody. Unfortunately, felt the Celeb Jeopardy was only so-so. Imbecile Hanks was embarrassing.

To Have Hanks and then Norm show up as Burt Reynolds-why wasn't that a home run?

Hader's flubbed E.J. was the first time I've ever seen him fail at pulling off an impression.

I agree. After the Lawrence Welk bit I was geared up for a home run of a show - and it went straight to hell after that.

Wow. That last sketch was pretty much "How many celebrities can we get to swing by?"
Hanks trying to get outta the plastic bag was fucking great.

Wiig is great as Gifford.

Show was fine, and it was nice that it was so big - felt like a finale. Not hilarious, but it was great seeing all of the returning cast members.

The funeral skit wasn't even close to as funny as the first time they did it, but Forte is amazing in those.

Agree for the most part on both counts.

Loved Hanks' self-referential callback/throwaway:

"Syphillis....syphilis"

Ha. "Sibilance, sibilance" you mean.

How great was it to see Norm on, by the way? And Artie. But, especially Norm.

I think that's what ultimately made it work. It just got more and more surreal.

Darrell Hammond seemed not to be really into Connery this time, I think that would have made the Jeopardy sketch return to past glories. His laughs sounded like regular laughs. "Catch These Men" was a worthy pun.

But yeah, the cameos "Wow, there's so-and-so in another context" was pretty much the most interesting thing going on. Elizabeth Moss is dating Fred Armisen, that's what I got from the show. Or that being a cast member feels like being in a war.

Just saw the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch. Wasn't too hot until Norm showed up. "Who is Pat Morita" saved it.

Agreed on all counts.

Never been a big fan of Ferrell, but I have to note that (for obvious reasons) his Bush impression has really improved.

And agreed, Hanks has got to get back into comedies.

Artie Lange was on? Damn, I watched from the Lawrence Welk sketch through update.

Forte in the funeral sketch was the biggest laugh of the night. I love when he when he plays creepy.

The other thing that really got me in the funeral sketch is Kristen Wiig in the walker and oxygen tank, struggling for breath, deadpanning "and I will give you rewards of the flesh such as you will never forget."

GOD yes. I hadn't seen the earlier funeral sketch, but Forte slayed me.
I was strangely comfortable with no Digital Short and mute, piano-playing Andy Samberg.
I believe the original "funeral" sketch was people giving wedding toasts. Forte stole the skit then, too.

I thought Hugh Laurie was pretty epic in that wedding skit. Forte was good, but Laurie knocked it out of the park.
