In 2000, Karl Rove engineered a smear campaign against John McCain in North Carolina by implying that McCain had an illegitimate, out-of-wedlock mixed race baby in push poll. McCain was humiliated and, understandably, furious with the Bush/Rove machine for visiting this kind of smear on his family (they're talking about Cindy's adopted baby from Bangladesh).

But evidently the pain and humiliation his family suffered as a result of these tactics don't preclude him turning these same attack dogs on Obama.

There are no perjoratives strong enough to describe the kind of slimeball that would do this.
