What's the best way to know if a DVD's out of print?

I'm trying to track down a couple flicks, and I see scattered availability and a range of prices. Is there a site that tells you if a certain disc is no longer available from the distributor (not including auction sites, private sales, etc)?

Go to eBay and type in "dvd oop" and see what pops up.

That's not really an actual and honest benchmark though.

http://www.dvdcompare.net/ usually has good notes, but I'm not sure it's 100% up to date.

That's what I use usually, and it hasn't lied to me yet.

Does it normally indicate somewhere if a disc is out of print (or am I not digging deep enough on dvdcompare)? I'm pretty sure the Artisan disc of RAWHEAD REX is, but the details only say:

R1 America - (Pioneer Video/Artisan)
Aspect Ratio:4:3Picture Format:Non-Anamorphic
TV System:NTSC
Soundtrack(s):English Dolby Digital 2.0
stereoCase type:Amaray (Keep) Case
Special thanks to Rewind user Electricboy for providing these specifications.

Look at the bottom in bold for an example. "The Criterion edition is OOP."

That said, dvdcompare isn't always accurate. It's listing for Screamers and Last Action Hero both refer to R1 releases that are OOP and have been replaced by fullscreen only releases.

I usually plug the title into DVD Aficionado. It gives results for all regions. Will include info like OUT OF PRINT, or DISCONTINUED, or UNAUTHORIZED RELEASE. Might also note if it's widescreen vs fullscreen, or whether or not a version is edited. It's been pretty accurate in my experience.

Thanks guys. I'll use both sites and cross-reference.

I back up the DVDaf suggestion. It's usually accurate.

I suspect A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell (Troma) is out of print, but compare doesn't even list it and aficianado makes no mention of its status. I hear many flicks in the Troma catalog are starting to enter a limbo phase due to losing their distributor (or so I've heard).
